It was a good decade in the sense that things more or less ran on autopilot the whole time. Markets were stable, the issues from unrestrained migration on Europe and the US hadn't hit full swing, and most institutions still had a veneer of respectability. But no one was planning ahead and now it shows. Everything is crumbling down and the time to stop it was 10 years ago, when everyone was happy to pretend Trump was just a one time thing and definitely not a sign of things to come.
