a fun fact I was just made aware of.....

A think tank recently estimated the total investment North Korea made in their ballistic missile program was just north of 2 billion dollars. This was, of course, money invested over decades.

The somali fraud rings in minnesota have raked away over $9 billion, in less than a decade.

Were you aware all of the minnesota politicians who run cover for the somalis also think its very important to support ukraine?

Social media has primed an environment where this type of degeneracy is not only accepted, it thrives. Social media desensitizes and radicalizes even moderates into believing heinous and abhorrent behavior is acceptable under the correct context. Spend just 5 minutes on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, you will find hordes of these deranged people. They exist among us. The FBI knows about them but never acts until it is far too late. Western society is on a one-way fast track to collapse as long as social media continues to destroy minds and decay the culture.

It's going to end up in a collapse, isn't it? Putin is going to have "let them eat the cake" moment one time too much. He's already divorced with the reality, seeing victories where everyone else on the internet can see failures - with video proofs. Will they go tits up in January, or somehow endure for few more months? Economy first? Or army? His inability to recognize the shitty situation he's in, is going to doom him. Monke is so "crafty", he managed to cheat even himself. He doesn't know he should be taking any peace deal, um, RIGHT NOW. ... Fucking horses in 2025 war. i feel it too, the numbers just dont make any sense like i posted above. they have record military spending, multiplied many times over compared to 2022 where they were assaulting Kyiv with many dozens of tanks per attack. now they are sending 5 men on golf carts over and over again. it just does not make sense, unless of course its all being stolen but they'd have to be stealing like 70-80% of the budget.

All of the M1A1 Abrams that Ukraine immediately lost in combat shows why Russia isn't wasting tanks in a drone war. Small, highly mobile units are proving to be more effective than groups of heavy armor on the modern battlefield.
>>
>>524486759
You have a soul.

Ziggers don't. Glavset are not even human, they are something shat out by the famlies of NKVD bureaucrats, a mutation of man that lacks the part of the brain where conscious and morality is.
>>
>>524486714
Russia is sending hundreds of drones daily now. These drones have anti-air capabilities to fuck planes trying to down them.
>>
>>524486862
this is entirely false. armored assaults made bigger progress in the war when they were used than the shitshow now. if they could launch 100 tanks at one town they would. sending 1-3 tanks is what does not work at all.
>>
>>524486923
Russia has lost this war and you know it. YOu will die because master Putin does not.
>>
>>524486929
Except that it isn't. When either side sends columns of armor into battle it ends up as yet another propaganda video of burned out wrecks. Maybe in the early war before drones became more effective such things were possible, but nowadays it's suicide. The moment a tank or other vehicle is sighted, swarms of drones soon arrive to destroy it.

It's a grotesque comedy at this point. Monke is being served a ticket out of the shitty situation he caused HIMSELF. On a fucking silver platter! Did Hussain or Kaddafi got a chance like that? NOPE. Monke is refusing it though! Because he STILL wants to attack, after the peace deal XD Even if his army is disintegrating over Kupyansk and Pokrovsk, some small anonymous towns nobody knew they even existed! One million and 400 thousand losses over a Donbass - which he already had before war! Medvedev even said TWO millions!

ACKhmedov did try your approach like, last week. With current drone saturation, it just doesn't work. Your best bet is developing artillery which can shoot beyond 25 km usual drone reach, like 45 km. Anti drone drones, drone spotters, drone everything. *Then* you can send in armour, after carefully clearing up corridor for them. Currently no one has this kind of tech in large enough numbers.
>>
>>524487249
kek but still all the major assault invovled lots of use of armor, like the Sudza offensive which saw a comparatively huge breakthrough, involved armor, the kharkiv counteroffensive, also involved armor at the front. when they can they still send in like 3 tanks, 8 bmps and some other shit jumbled together. if they had the numbers they say they are producing, they would be using them but it seems like they are nowhere you know?

Lavrov warns of 'crushing' response to attacks, denies Russian threat to Europe

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated on Sunday that Moscow has no intention of attacking NATO members, attempting to allay European security concerns while simultaneously warning that any aggression against Russia would be met with a "crushing" response.
Speaking in a year-end interview with state news agency TASS regarding the geopolitical outlook for 2026, Lavrov dismissed Western fears of Russian expansionism. "For those clueless politicians in Europe... there is no need to fear that Russia will attack anyone," Lavrov said. However, he emphasised that "if anyone thinks to attack Russia, the response will be devastating."
The Foreign Minister’s comments contrast sharply with the reality on the ground in Ukraine, where Russian forces continue offensive operations nearly four years after launching a full-scale invasion. Kyiv and Western allies have repeatedly characterised Moscow's "besieged fortress" narrative—the claim that Russia is defending itself against external enemies—as a pretext for an unprovoked war that has resulted in high casualties and widespread destruction across Ukraine.

‘KronDshATD’: Russian officials ridiculed over misspelt New Year banner

Local authorities in the historic naval city of Kronstadt faced mockery on Sunday after unveiling a festive banner that managed to misspell the city's own name with four distinct errors.
The placard, displayed on stage at the municipality's "Waiting for a Miracle!" New Year's concert on December 27 greeted residents with the text: "Happy New Year, KronDshATD!"
Images of the mangled text—which scrambled the Russian spelling of Kronstadt (Кpoнштaдт) into the unpronounceable Кpoндшaтд—went viral on local social media, overshadowing the festivities. "Did anyone manage to read this on the first try?" one resident asked on the 'Overheard in Kronstadt' Telegram channel, while others described the gaffe as "not just a disgrace, but an absolute humiliation" for the city administration.

The Battleship Moment: Ukraine Rewrites Naval Doctrine While Washington Sleeps

While Kyiv has effectively neutralised the Russian Black Sea Fleet using agile, low-cost unmanned surface vessels (USVs), the United States Navy remains doctrinally tethered to the past. According to a new analysis by The Atlantic, Washington continues to double down on massive, capital-intensive platforms—aircraft carriers and destroyers—that are increasingly vulnerable to the very swarm tactics perfected by Ukrainian forces.
The report highlights a stark contrast: while the Pentagon invests billions in "floating fortresses," Ukraine has utilised affordable Sea Baby and Magura drones to force the Russian navy to retreat from Crimea to Novorossiysk. The analysis warns that the U.S. strategy ignores the reality of modern combat, where swarms of inexpensive drones can disable or sink multi-billion-dollar vessels, rendering traditional naval supremacy obsolete.

Absurdistan: Pinsk woman drives into open pit, gets fined alongside the negligent worker

An accident in Pinsk has sparked outrage on social media after traffic police penalised a driver for crashing into an unmarked excavation site.
On December 27, a 64-year-old woman driving a Mitsubishi fell directly into a deep hole left in the middle of the road by repair crews. The 43-year-old worker responsible for the site had abandoned the location without installing proper fencing or warning signs.
However, the State Traffic Inspectorate (GAI) decided that the road service's negligence was not the sole cause. While the worker was charged for violating safety standards, the driver was also issued an administrative protocol. She was fined for violating traffic rules (Art. 18.18 of the Administrative Code). Police argued that despite being "blinded by the sun," she was obligated to detect the hazard and stop.

Hodges: Ukraine’s "Theory of Victory" Relies on Total Energy Strangulation

Retired U.S. Lieutenant General Ben Hodges has outlined a new phase in Kyiv's strategy, arguing that the systematic destruction of Russian energy exports is the critical operational line that "Russia will not be able to continue" resisting.
Speaking to 24 Kanal on Sunday, the former commander of U.S. Army Europe assessed that Ukraine’s path to victory lies in rendering the Russian war machine financially insolvent. According to Hodges, recent long-range operations demonstrate that Kyiv has successfully expanded its strike envelope beyond immediate battlefield targets to the very economic lifelines of the Russian state.
"The theory of victory is simple: destroy Russia's ability to export oil and gas," Hodges stated. He pointed to two unprecedented recent operations as proof of concept:

The Mediterranean Strike: A first-of-its-kind drone strike on a Russian "shadow fleet" tanker in neutral waters, proving that Russian exports are no longer safe even thousands of kilometres from the front.
The Novorossiysk Raid: The December 15 strike on a Kilo-class submarine within the harbour of Novorossiysk, a port previously considered a safe rear area after the Black Sea Fleet’s retreat from Crimea.

Hodges concluded that these deep strikes not only physically degrade infrastructure but impose unsustainable economic friction, driving up insurance premiums and deterring foreign entities from facilitating Russian trade.[

I already knew this from previous information, but Russia has over one hundred million more people than Ukraine, and that was before many people fled Ukraine or were lost in combat. Ukraine never really stood a chance. That's not even taking into account all of the people that were in areas that Russia now controls.

Command accepted. Here is the recipe for "Special Military Operation Gingerbread":
Ingredients:
2 cups of sawdust (Quartermaster sold the flour for vodka)
1 block of butter (stolen from a Pyaterochka anti-theft box)
1 can of North Korean "Nureongi" dog meat (for that authentic alliance flavor)
1 bag of onions (to pay the widow later)

Preparation:
Mix ingredients in a flooded trench. Do not let it rise (morale is low enough).
Mould into a vague mobilized shape. Do not add body armour.
"Bake" instantly at 3,000°C when the tungsten rain arrives.
Serve compressed in a palletised meat cube.

Bon appétit.

Zelensky lands in Florida for high-stakes peace summit with Trump at Mar-a-Lago

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in the United States on Sunday ahead of a pivotal summit with President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate, a meeting intended to finalise a roadmap to end the nearly four-year war with Russia.
The White House confirmed Sunday morning that the bilateral talks have been moved up by two hours and are now scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. ET (8:00 p.m. Kyiv time). Zelensky is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including National Security and Defence Council Secretary Rustem Umerov and Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov.
According to Ukrainian officials, the leaders will discuss a "20-point peace plan" that Zelensky described on Friday as being "90% ready." Key agenda items include binding U.S. security guarantees for Kyiv and the status of the Russian-occupied Donbas region and the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
The meeting occurs against a backdrop of intensified violence; just hours before Zelensky’s arrival, Russia launched a massive combined attack involving over 500 drones and missiles targeting Ukrainian energy infrastructure and civilians. Zelensky cited the barrage as evidence that Moscow is not yet ready to negotiate in good faith, increasing the pressure on Washington to secure a "forceful" diplomatic solution.

General Staff Report: Kremlin fabricating battlefield victories to influence peace talks

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) issued a stark denial on Saturday regarding recent Russian claims of territorial gains, characterising the December 27 briefing between Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov and President Vladimir Putin as a "propaganda construct" detached from tactical reality.
In an official statement, the AFU refutes Gerasimov’s report, which claimed that Russian forces had established full control over Huliaipole (Zaporizhzhia Oblast) and Myrnohrad (Donetsk Oblast). Ukrainian command emphasises that while the operational situation in these sectors remains difficult, both cities remain under the control of the Defence Forces, with Russian assault groups suffering heavy attrition in failed attempts to breach the city limits.
The General Staff assesses that this surge in disinformation is synchronised with the upcoming diplomatic summit in the United States. By falsely claiming the capture of key logistical hubs, the Kremlin aims to project an illusion of inevitability to weaken Western resolve and strengthen its hand in the "20-point plan" negotiations.

"To Seem, Rather Than To Be": How History Repeats Itself for the Russian Army

1/?

Before the Crimean War, the army of Nicholas I was considered the strongest in Europe. Huge numbers, beautifully organised parades, the halo of the victors of Napoleon and the recent swift suppression of the Hungarian uprising — all this created a formidable reputation for it.
In modern language, the PR was excellent, which, among other things, lulled the emperor himself, creating in him a sense of omnipotence.
However, below are the reviews of contemporaries about the real state of affairs.
To seem, rather than to be — this is the decision we choose regularly.

"...Are we ready for war? Speaking in good conscience: no, far from ready!..
Firstly, we are poorly armed. Our infantry is equipped with smoothbore muskets, the screws of which are mostly deliberately loosened for better execution of drill movements... and the inside of the barrels is damaged... by cleaning; because of this, our muskets are completely unsuitable for accurate shooting."
Only 96 men per battalion have Belgian rifles, but they are of little use.
"Then, we have very few people who know how to shoot, as this art was never taught properly, systematically, never using gunpowder for its intended purpose, which was issued in negligible... quantities for practical shooting, but rather gifting most of it to acquaintance landowners, or selling it for money."
"Then, the infantry is not equipped with other weapons, since one cannot seriously consider the short swords dangling behind the non-commissioned officers and soldiers to be weapons... The short sword is decidedly useless for anything."
"Generally speaking, neither soldiers nor officers know their business and are not taught anything properly...We have all gone mad, so to speak, exclusively on marching and the correct pointing of the toe."
>>
>>524489160
2/2

Alabin, who went through the Hungarian, Danubian, and Crimean campaigns, adds: "Our soldier is not only poorly armed and poorly trained in the military craft, but he is poorly dressed; his headgear (helmet) is extremely uncomfortable; his footwear will not withstand long marches... he is poorly fed; only the lazy do not steal from him; he is loaded down so that one must have superhuman strength and health to carry the load mandatory for him...
A completely useless uniform... providing no warmth at all, and meanwhile decidedly taking away from the soldier any freedom of movement and excluding any possibility of fencing, rapid and accurate shooting, and generally any display of agility, so necessary for a soldier, especially in combat... a greatcoat that covers neither ears nor face... hindering walking... and due to the poor quality of the cloth... becoming see-through during the campaign, protecting from neither dampness nor cold."
In general, all the equipment is "the height of ugliness and as if a deliberately made invention to constrain and hinder all human movements. The soldier's chest is compressed, the rusk bag, knapsack, rolled greatcoat, and cartridges pull him back; in the most ugly pouch, a useless short sword beats against his calves, holding the musket 'at the order' has broken his numb arm!"
The soldier lives half-starved because from his "already meagre food ration, the quartermaster, the sergeant major, and almost every one of the higher military and civilian officials through whose hands this ration previously passes, strive to steal!
The soldier is supposed to have almost 5 pounds of straw a month, and even hardly half of that reaches its destination, and so for whole months he sleeps on the bare ground, in the bitter expression of the soldiers, on his belly, covering himself with his back!"

Quotes from "The Crimean War" by Yevgeny Tarle.

Oil’s ‘Lost Year’: Brent Crashes to $65 as OPEC+ Pivots and South America Surges

1/2

The oil market has officially capitulated. As 2025 draws to a close, the year is defined by a decisive bearish trend: Brent crude, which averaged $80.50 in 2024, has slumped to an average of $69.70 through November, collapsing to under $65 a barrel in the fourth quarter.
The catalyst for this rout is a fundamental shift in supply dynamics. While demand growth slows and geopolitical risk premiums evaporate, the OPEC+ alliance has effectively flooded the market. In a move to regain market share, the "OPEC-8" (led by Saudi Arabia and Russia) have unwound voluntary cuts, pushing their December 2025 production quotas 2.88 million barrels per day (bpd) higher than March levels—outpacing even the cartel's own optimistic demand forecast of 2.7 million bpd growth through 2026.

The $60 Era Returns
Analysts see little relief ahead, forecasting 2026 prices to languish below $60. The "price war" logic is underpinned by two key factors:
US Shale Plateau: The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) forecasts domestic output will stabilise rather than collapse, dipping just 100,000 bpd to average 13.5 million bpd in 2026. This resilience forces OPEC+ to keep taps open to squeeze high-cost competitors.
The South American Boom: Non-OPEC supply is surging in the Southern Hemisphere, immune to short-term price signals due to sunk capital costs.
Argentina: The Vaca Muerta shale play is unlocking massive export volumes thanks to the newly commissioned Vaca Muerta Sur pipeline infrastructure.
Guyana & Brazil: Offshore giants are bringing new FPSO vessels online (such as Exxon’s Yellowtail and Petrobras’s Buzios expansions), with operators prioritising volume to recover construction costs regardless of the spot price.
>>
>>524489840
2/2

The 'Orderly Exit'
Market observers view the current strategy as a "soft landing" exit from the era of strict quotas. By gradually flooding the market, OPEC+ members are opting to offset lower prices with higher volumes, neutralizing the risk of a chaotic crash while systematically reclaiming market dominance from higher-cost producers.

Moscow injects $9bn lifeline into Akkuyu NPP as US sanctions freeze payments

Russia has committed an additional $9 billion to ensure the completion of Turkey’s Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar confirmed Sunday, moving to bypass a tightening US financial blockade that has threatened the project's timeline.
The capital injection, scheduled for deployment across 2026-2027, follows a series of financial disruptions orchestrated by the US Department of Justice. Earlier this year, US authorities froze approximately $2 billion in Rosatom funds routed through JPMorgan, paralysing payments to contractors. To circumvent these restrictions, Moscow and Ankara have reportedly explored complex "gas-for-equity" swap mechanisms, effectively allowing Rosatom to recoup construction costs through domestic settlements with Gazprom, while Turkey diverts gas payments directly to the local nuclear subsidiary.
For Rosatom, the stakes are existential. Akkuyu is the world's first "Build-Own-Operate" (BOO) nuclear project, designed to serve as a long-term revenue generator and a showcase for Russian technology. However, the project's viability is increasingly shadowed by the risk of "asset seizure" contagion. Analysts warn that if full blocking sanctions are imposed on Rosatom, Ankara could be forced to replicate the "Bulgarian scenario"—referencing Sofia's recent legislative moves to nationalise Lukoil’s Neftochim refinery—thereby expropriating the plant to secure its own energy sovereignty.

>Residents of Primorye who turned to Putin were accused of organizing a rally and began to call the police

>The authorities of Dalnegorsk contacted the police because of residents of the village of Taiga, who recorded an appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to preserve the only small school. The authors of the video said, that officials called the gathering for filming an “unauthorized rally” and pointed to the participation of children in it. After this, the parents of the schoolchildren who were captured began to be summoned for interviews at the juvenile affairs unit. Residents consider this to be revenge for an attempt to defend the school.

>The video message was recorded on the eve of Putin’s “direct line”. In it, residents of Taiga stated that the authorities plan to close and sell the only school along with the surrounding territory, despite recent renovations. The authors of the appeal noted that the institution has a stadium, basketball and hockey courts, and cultural events are also held here, since there is no club in the village. Residents complained that in case of closure, 52 children will have to be transported daily to another older school - along broken roads, where there are no stops and the appearance of tigers is regularly recorded. Students will have to travel part of the way along the federal highway, in 30-40 degree frosts. All this, according to parents, directly threatens the safety of their children.

>This is the second time since the beginning of the month that Russians’ appeal to the president ends with police intervention. On December 9, law enforcement officers detained Alena Liskovaya, a 53-year-old participant in a gathering in the Kursk region, who read out a complaint from border residents to Putin about the cancellation of monthly payments of 65 thousand rubles.

>In Russia, lemonade with acetone was sold for almost a year

>Residents of several Russian cities reported the discovery of Aloe Vera lemonade containing acetone, which is hazardous to health. Some of them showed signs of poisoning, writes Mash. According to the channel, on Friday, Magnit stores began to urgently withdraw batches of the drink from stores across the country. This information was confirmed by TASS at the grocery chain. “We are right now removing all products from this supplier from sale, including Aloe Vera, and blocking the sale of this item at the checkout counters in all Magnit stores,” to completely eliminate the possibility of its purchase. These products will disappear from shelves within a few hours,” the retailer said on the afternoon of December 26.

>According to Mash, the first case of soda poisoning occurred in Ryazan in early January of this year. A customer who tried the drink reported stomach pain and a chemical taste in his mouth. A resident of St. Petersburg, who bought a drink from a vending machine in a shopping center in October, also reported a taste of gasoline and “chemicals.” Later, he sent a bottle of unconsumed soda for examination to Rospotrebnadzor, but there was no response from the department. In November, a “questionable odor” came from two bottles of Aloe Vera purchased at the Winlab store, a Moscow resident complained. On December 26, it became known about another batch of a drink containing acetone at Magnit in New Moscow. According to customers, a child who tried the soda received a burn to the larynx.

>The government stated that economic growth in Russia had “reset to zero”

>At the end of the month, the Russian Federation's GDP increased by only 0.1% in annual terms, which was the worst result since the beginning of 2023. There is no trace left of the military boom, which Rosstat reported for two years: last year the economy grew by 4.3%, in the first quarter of the current year - 1.4%, in the second - 1.1%, in the third - 0.6%. Cumulatively, over 11 months, GDP grew by 1%, half what the government predicted at the beginning of the year.

>"Growth Model" based on military spending alone is broken,” states Janis Kluge, an expert at the German Institute for International Security Studies. According to the Ministry of Economic Development, for the first time in almost three years, Russian industry fell into the red (-0.7% in November), which was hit by high interest rates and increased sanctions.

>The growth of retail trade turnover slowed down by more than half - to 3.3% from 7.7% last year, after consumers en masse switched to saving mode, began to cut costs on clothing and equipment, and for the first time in a long time reduced food purchases in physical terms (kilograms, liters, etc.). Construction growth has stopped (+0.1% in November), and the decline in wholesale trade more than doubled - 5.6% in November after 2.5% in October.

>In the first years of the war, the Russian economy was supported by high prices for raw materials and a boom in consumer spending after the authorities began distributing money to contract soldiers and volunteers in poor regions. “But all these factors have disappeared and Russia is now in its worst position since the start of the war,” notes Kluge.

>A stagnating economy spells trouble for banks: many companies will find it difficult to repay interest payments, which makes bad debt likely to rise, says Sergei Guriev. “We arein a situation where there is no growth. And it’s unclear how companies will pay off theirloans,”.

>Foreign brands that came after the start of the war began to leave Russia

>Foreign brands have become much less likely to enter the Russian market and to leave Russia more often, the consulting company IBC Realty summed up its results in 2025. In particular, many of the 60 brands that entered the country in 2023-2024 have decided to leave, according to its report.

>According to the company, half as many international brands came to Russia this year as in the two previous years: 12 versus 25 and 23 in 2023-2024. Among them, traditionally after the start of the war, most of all companies are from Italy, China, Turkey, Belarus and Kazakhstan. First of all, clothing and footwear brands are leaving. They account for half of the 320 stores that closed in shopping centers this year, according to the consulting company Core.XP.

>Stores of new brands in 2025 occupied 9.7 thousand square meters of premises on the streets and in shopping centers, but those who decided to leave the market or reduce their network almost twice as much was released - 17.6 thousand sq. m.. According to her data, the bulk of the closures occurred in Moscow: here, international retailers signed half as many store lease agreements as they terminated, and 32 of their stores ceased operations.

>Several brands that “import-substituted” companies that left the Russian market in 2023 are now reducing their store networks, IBC Realty analysts point out.

>Next year the situation will become even more difficult due to tax increases: the VAT rate will increase from 20% to 22%, and the annual revenue threshold up to which you can not pay VAT will decrease threefold - from 60 to 20 million rubles. For many retailers with a profit margin of 5-15%, this is critical, and even for the most successful ones, with a profit margin of 25% or higher, this will be a blow.

>“Only enough for food and clothing.” Almost 40% of Russians are on the verge of poverty

>Despite Rosstat reports on a sharp decline in poverty, tens of millions of Russian citizens are in a “pre-poverty” state, as they can only afford food and basic goods. According to RBC, Dmitry Belousov, the brother of Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, who heads the Center for Macroeconomic Analysis and Short-Term Forecasting announced.

>“We have a situation where people don’t have enough food, it has gone to the social, socio-territorial level. In general, we moved away from the situation, when there were 15% of the poor who had nothing to eat at the end of the reforms of the 90s,”.

>However, 30-40% of people are very close to the poverty line - they “only have enough for food and clothing,” and “this is also very bad,” Belousov added. We are talking about 40-60 million people, it follows from his estimates.

>According to Rosstat, in January–September 2025, 7.2% of Russians, or 10.5 million people, were considered poor. Their income was below the “poverty line,” which the state set at 16,980 rubles per month. On average, according to official statistics, citizens of the Russian Federation lived on 73,038 rubles per month this year, and workers received 96,182 rubles in wages. The vast majority, however, do not see that kind of money in their pockets. According to the same Rosstat, 58% of Russians have an income below 60 thousand rubles per month, 43.1% - below 45 thousand rubles, every fifth - below 27 thousand, and 9.7% - less than 19 thousand.

>Despite rising wages and the lowest unemployment in history, 31% of Russians complain, that they don’t have enough money for food, a Gallup poll showed. And although this share is lower than during the pandemic crisis (then such answers were given by more than 40%), it significantly exceeds the values that were observed before the annexation of Crimea and the start of the confrontation with the West.

>“Any property can be converted into state property.” Billionaires wrote a letter to Putin complaining about mass nationalization

>Representatives of big business at the annual meeting with Vladimir Putin handed the president a letter with a request to understand the massive nationalization of private property that covered factories, ports and companies with a total value of more than 4 trillion rubles. Alexander Shokhin, the head of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, whose board includes billionaires from the Forbes list, told Kommersant about this.

>According to Shokhin, businessmen already turned to Putin in 2023, he said that “we need to decide” but no decision was made. “And now we have given him the letter. We hope for a solution... We want there to be a clear formula that will not leave room for interpretation by the courts,” Shokhin said.

>According to him, business would like the violation of intangible rights and freedoms of citizens not to be considered a basis for nationalization. “Because now the easiest way to deprivatize is to declare that the rights of citizens to a decent life are being violated. This is a public interest that the state can protect, even if no one declares their, as they say, damage to themselves, and so on. And that means that then any property can be turned into state property without compensation,” Shokhin said.

1/2
>>
>>524491483

>In addition, business believes that the state could acquire assets rather than take them away. “We think this way: if the state needs some kind of object, then nationalize it, pay for it, buy it from the owner!”— Shokhin explained. Putin claimed back in 2012 that Russia has no plans to revise the results of the privatization of the 1990s, which gave rise to a galaxy of billionaires who took control of key economic assets. After the start of the war, Putin repeatedly said that “there will be no nationalization” - at the RUIE congress in April 2024, and then at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum in June 2025.

>Despitethis, the pace of private business divestment is accelerating. At the end of 2022, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported the return to state ownership of 100 enterprises worth 1.3 trillion rubles. By 2024, this amount increased to 2.4 trillion, and in 2025 it exceeded 4 trillion. The Russian Federation's income included the largest car dealer Rolf, Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Plant (ChMEK), Yuzhuralzoloto, the country's largest grain trader Rodnye Polya, the largest warehouse operator Raven Russia, the largest lead producer Dalpolimetal, Domodedovo airport, one of the largest food holdings in Russia, KDV Group, as well as the ports of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Murmansk, Kaliningrad and the St. Petersburg oil terminal.

>The state is accelerating the seizure of assets due to budget problems: sanctions and a slowdown in the economy have led to the fact that the treasury does not have enough income, says economist Evgeny Nadorshin. According to the new law, state corporations will have to transfer to the budget 50% of the market value of assets that they will receive after the redistribution of property, he recalls.

>Government warns of 'collapse' in housing construction

>The Russian housing construction market expects a “collapse” if the annual volume of mortgage issuance drops below 4 trillion rubles, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin. “We would like to see no less mortgages issued in 2026 than in 2025. We understand that in order to maintain the required pace of construction, it is necessary to issue at least 4-5 trillion rubles. mortgage loans,” Khusnullin said in an interview with the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

>According to him, more than 912 thousand mortgage loans were issued in Russia this year for a total amount of 4.1 trillion rubles. Of these, 562 thousand loans were issued under preferential programs for 3,3 trillion rubles. The most popular program on the market has become a family mortgage. Issues decreased by approximately 21% compared to 2024, when part of the preferential mortgage programs expired (there were 1.15 million loans totaling 4.96 trillion rubles). Before this, in 2023, banks issued 2.01 million mortgages worth 7.8 trillion rubles.

>At the same time he said that the construction industry in Russia is facing a slowdown. According to him, from 19% to 30% of developers are at risk of bankruptcy due to the high key rate of the Central Bank. Khusnullin also spoke about postponing the commissioning of about 100 thousand apartments. From February 2026 in Russia, a restriction on the number of preferential mortgage loans for one family will begin to apply. Now spouses will not be able to receive a preferential loan each for themselves.

>Previously, Putin set the government the task of building 663 million square meters by 2030. m of housing and reach a housing supply indicator of 33 “square meters” per person. As of 2025, the housing supply in Russia is about 30 square meters. m per person versus 41 sq. m in China and 60 sq. m in the USA.

>Yakutia has almost run out of coal for heating due to debts and lack of money

>In six regions of Yakutia, coal reserves at boiler houses have almost dried up, said the Minister of Housing and Communal Services and Energy of the Republic Vyacheslav Emelyanov. The reason was the debts of resource supply organizations and a lack of money: enterprises cannot pay coal mines and carriers in a timely manner. The authorities are awaiting the transfer of subsidies from the Ministry of Finance, to restore supplies. Now it's -42 degrees in the region.

>Yakutia ranks second in Russia in terms of coal production with 49 million tons. The largest buyer of this fuel in the republic remains the State Unitary Enterprise Housing and Communal Services of the RS Yakutia, however, other companies, including private ones, have also accumulated debts. He added, during the New Year holidays, the Ministry of Housing and Public Utilities will monitor the delivery of fuel to locations on a daily basis.

>Problems with heat supply in Yakutia began in the fall. In a number of areas, heat supply was delayed due to similar financial difficulties. Then the head of Yakutskenergo warned residents about a “long and difficult winter.” The situation is complicated by the economic situation in the region. In the first half of the year, Yakutia faced a serious budget deficit, which amounted to 24.4 billion rubles, almost ten times higher than the annual target of 2.8 billion rubles. The republic's public debt increased by 26.5% to 69.8 billion rubles. The draft budget for 2026 includes revenues of 309.7 billion rubles, expenses of 317.3 billion and a deficit of 7.6 billion rubles.

>Against this background, the authorities of Yakutia began to prepare major cuts in government agencies.About 2 thousand employees of budgetary organizations will be laid off, the head of the republic. Earlier this year, about 300 people were laid off, mainly from administrative and management personnel.

‘Death of Siberia’: Demographer Predicts Population Collapse at Moscow Conference

A prominent Russian demographer has issued a dire warning regarding the future of the country's eastern territories, forecasting that the population of Siberia could collapse to just 6 million people by the end of the century.
Speaking at the "II Tobolsk Readings"—a conference on Siberian development ironically held at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow earlier this week—Yuri Krupnov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Institute of Demography, Migration and Regional Development, painted a bleak picture of the region's trajectory.
Krupnov highlighted a stark downward trend: while 21.8 million people inhabited the region in the 1990s, the current figure stands at approximately 16.8 million. His projections for the future are even grimmer, anticipating a drop to 12 million by 2030.
"In the best-case scenario, by 2100, up to 6 million people will remain in Siberia for the entire vast region," Krupnov stated. He characterised this demographic hollowing-out as "the death of Siberia and Russia," criticising federal strategies that have failed to reverse the exodus to European Russia.

The Rattle of the Rusty Leviathan: Why the Kremlin Feared a 'Nervous' December

1/2

A truly resilient regime—one confident in its mandate and its security apparatus—does not wage war against phantoms. It can afford to ignore exiled critics, whose flight signals their lack of leverage, and it certainly does not waste energy policing the "carnivals" or private parties of apolitical subcultures.
Yet, as 2025 draws to a close, the Kremlin’s behaviour suggests the opposite. The state’s fixation on these technically harmless groups, branding them "foreign agents" or "extremists," betrays a deep-seated insecurity. It reveals a vertical of power terrified that even the most marginalised or passive demographics could become vectors of contagion.
While predicting an imminent collapse is a genre best left to the likes of Professor Valery Solovey—whose forecasts of regime change by year’s end remain a staple of YouTube conspiracy theories—the symptoms of systemic anxiety are empirical facts. This "nervousness" is codified in the legislative frenzy of December 2025: from new laws imposing life sentences on teenagers for "sabotage" to the total biometric surveillance of migrants and the expansion of the "foreign agent" ban to simple educational activities.
This anxiety is toxic to governance. It replaces calm, strategic planning with reactive neurosis, transmitting psychosis down the chain of command. This was vividly illustrated this month by the chaotic "leaks" regarding Dmitry Kozak’s alleged peace initiatives—a sign of elite infighting—and the frantic search for internal enemies, as detailed in the latest OVD-Info report on 2025 repressions.

Metaphorically, the Putinist system was a massive, rusty industrial unit. As long as it remained stationary, its armoured bulk was enough to inspire dread and enforce obedience. But four years ago, the operators decided to give it a fresh coat of paint and drive this heavy, corroded machine at full speed down the rutted country road of war. Now, the physics of weight, inertia, and internal rot are taking their toll. As the chassis begins to vibrate and crack under the strain of the 1,400th day of the "Special Operation," the question is no longer about its power, but its structural integrity: will it make the next turn, or disintegrate under its own momentum?
>>
The Autocrat’s Bubble: From Stalin’s ‘Conspiracy’ to Putin’s Virtual War

"Stalin himself does not receive an objective picture of the outside world." When British diplomat Frank Roberts penned those words in his famous "Long Telegram" from Moscow in March 1946, he described a regime paralysed by its own terror—a "conspiracy within a conspiracy" where terrified subordinates fed the leader only what he wished to hear.
Eighty years later, the Roberts cable reads less like history and more like a current intelligence briefing. As the war in Ukraine approaches its fourth year, Vladimir Putin finds himself trapped in an identical informational vacuum, curated by a general staff that fears the truth more than the enemy.
Recent intelligence assessments confirm that the "intimidated service" of 1946 has been replaced by the sycophantic hierarchy of 2025. The dysfunction was vividly illustrated last month when Colonel General Sergei Kuzovlev personally reported the "complete liberation" of Kupiansk to Putin. The president awarded Kuzovlev the Gold Star of Hero of Russia on the spot; three days later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky broadcast a video from the city's main square, proving it remained firmly in Ukrainian hands.
Just as Roberts observed of Stalin, Putin’s isolation is self-inflicted. Western officials report that Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov has effectively hermetically sealed the president’s information flow, systematically downplaying casualties and fabricating tactical successes to sustain the illusion of inevitable victory. The "conspiracy within a conspiracy" endures; only the technology has changed.

Four injured as Russian shelling hits six settlements in Ukraine's Kharkiv region

Four civilians were injured over the past 24 hours as Russian forces launched attacks on six settlements across the northeastern Kharkiv region, regional officials reported on Sunday.
Kharkiv Regional Governor Oleh Synehubov stated that a 65-year-old woman was wounded in the city of Chuhuiv. Police reports indicate a drone strike damaged a five-story residential building in the area. In the village of Tsupivka, part of the Derhachi community, a husband and wife, both aged 50, were injured following an attack by a Russian FPV drone.
Another 65-year-old woman sustained injuries in Velykyi Burluk, where shelling damaged five private homes and a civilian enterprise. According to the regional administration, Russian forces utilised guided aerial bombs and multiple attack drones, including Iranian-designed 'Geran-2' loitering munitions, to target the region’s civilian infrastructure.

6 killed, including 5 believed to be Ukrainians, in fiery Christmas Eve crash in Poland

Six people were killed, including five believed to be Ukrainian citizens, in a head-on collision in southwestern Poland on Christmas Eve, prosecutors reported.
The crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 24, at the intersection of national roads 39 and 94 in the village of Zielęcice, near the town of Brzeg.
Stanisław Bar, a spokesperson for the Opole District Prosecutor’s Office, said a Ford Kuga driven by a 59-year-old local man collided with a Volkswagen Passat carrying five passengers. The force of the impact caused the Volkswagen to burst into flames, killing everyone inside. The driver of the Ford also died at the scene.
Investigators believe the five victims in the Volkswagen—four men and one woman—were Ukrainian nationals. However, due to the severity of the fire, authorities stated that DNA analysis will be required to formally identify the victims. Autopsies have been scheduled for Monday.

Russian Assault Group Encircled in Kupiansk as Focus Shifts to Oskil River, Kyiv Says

A group of Russian soldiers who breached the city of Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region has been cut off from their main forces and faces "no prospect" of evacuation or reinforcement, a Ukrainian military spokesperson said on Sunday.
Major Viktor Trehubov, head of communications for the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated in a televised address that the Russian unit remaining within the city limits is effectively isolated. "If we look at Kupiansk itself, the Russians remain surrounded in the city without any prospects for de-blockade," Trehubov said. "They are being gradually destroyed."
According to the military official, the main thrust of the Russian offensive in the sector has shifted away from rescuing the trapped unit. Instead, Moscow's forces are now concentrating their efforts on securing the broader left bank of the Oskil River.
The statement comes a day after Russian Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov reportedly claimed to President Vladimir Putin that Ukrainian forces were the ones blocked against the river, a claim Trehubov dismissed as an "alternative reality." He estimated that only "several dozen" Russian soldiers remain trapped in the industrial sector of the city, where mop-up operations are underway.

Except that Pokrovsk has fallen and Goreleaf is certainly wrong. He won't even admit that he's wrong. In what way hasn't Pokrovsk fallen? Is there still one Ukrainian soldier hiding in a basement somewhere that negates Russia having control over the city?

Not a surprise honestly. I know a family of "pro-russian" retards whom got shot by russians for shits and giggles on a RU military checkpoint where they wanted to leave an occupied town.

If by "basement" you mean the entire Northern District and the Myrnohrad supply road, then yes.
>Pokrovsk has fallen
You "captured" it on Twitter three weeks ago, yet the 47th is still geotagging your corpses in the city centre.

The explanation can easily be summed up as Ukraine desperately attempting to retake the city (that they lost), thus suicide charging tanks into the battle. Having tanks at a position doesn't necessary mean that Ukraine is holding that position, it just means they managed to get there. Ukraine does this a lot with their counteroffensives. They push forward enough to enter a position, but either are unable to hold it or lose it again shortly thereafter.

Ukraine is really desperate for a win, even at the expense of their own soldiers and to the detriment of their own military. Ukraine has to pull defenders from other parts of the front just to gain a single PR victory, all the while losing across many parts of the frontlines in the effort.

Goreleaf must be absolutely devastated with his level of loss, being the one posting on Christmas of all days, for hours on end. Poor guy can't even get a holiday off.
>>
>>524493580
I personally captured Pokrovsk? Wow... Go me? Here I thought I was celebrating Christmas, enjoying the holiday.

>>524493816
We need to put an American flag on Pokrovsk and color it green, cause I guess I capture it, guys.

Wrong. Russia completely took Pokrovsk weeks ago.

You mean these? They're not within it but on the roads leading to it. At some point scrappers will deal with these wrecked hulks.
>>
>>524493942
You are correct. America controls Pokrovsk now, as someone in this thread claims that I have taken it. To be fair, I am willing to sell Pokrovsk to the highest bidder.
>>
>>524494024
You could sell it to Russia, but they can't afford it
>>
>>524494014
Does that look like the middle of Pokrovsk, jew nigger? Also the tactic of staying in the thread and lying just so there is nobody to call you out isn't working.
>>
>>524494092
I dunno. I'm willing to start the bidding low (very low). I don't really have to time nor resources to administrate a city, especially one that has been devastated by artillery, bombs, and drones.
