The protest today attracted counter protesters, and STG forces are present, supposedly to keep the protest non-violent. The protest has turned at least slightly violent, with STG, pro-government protesters, and Alawite protesters, accusing each other or different groups, of causing or even planning violence. Some STG forced have been wounded, and there are reports of gunfire. Accusations of both groups of protesters being armed.
