A common myth told throughout the history of Media under Capitalism is that owners of big business are these evil, often grotesque, creatures with no semblance of humanity, dignity, or respect for life. They portray them as inherently flawed people, with inherently antagonistic behaviors and desires. Not only is this not the truth, it is capitalist apologist in nature. It suggests that the cornerstone of the flaw is not contained within the system of capitalism itself, but the players we happen to have been dealt. It also builds the false perception that the root of saving ourselves lies within finding kind and generous leaders, rather than criticizing and restructuring the style of leadership itself. It builds the perception that IF you are talking to a business owner who is kind and gentle, then he must not be doing any wrong.In reality, there is a very different causation to the actions of the owners of big business, and it has nothing to do with any flaw in their personality. The actions of the bourgeois have absolutely nothing to do with desire of personal choice or persona. In order to reproduce the conditions of their class character, these people MUST take certain actions and obey a certain cause and effect relationship to their class character, which is defined by their class character. If they do not, their class character fails to reproduce itself, and they cease to occupy that class. It is a “natural selection” of class relationships to production in this sense. It is because these people simply must take these actions, and if they don’t then they fail and cease to exist in the same way, that dictates the behaviors of a given class. We could not witness a bourgeois who does not act this way because if they did not, they would not be bourgeois for much longer, so we could not witness them in this state. Don’t be fooled by the “kind” bourgeois.
