Yes, at first it leads to a better quality of life and then the government starts allowing itself things it didn't allow before like in England, France, or Sweden without people reacting because they're addicted to socialism and wouldn't tolerate for a second having their benefits taken away even if it means lower taxes for everyone, then an incompetent and nepotistic ruling class starts to take hold and behave like a mafia, siphoning off taxes for itself without any concern for the people because in any case the taxes and civil servants are so enormous that no one will even notice. All socialist countries are more or less advanced in the development of this disease.
