Even if you could buy a house, you'd just be getting some boomer's sloppy seconds.

Boomers put as little money into their home as possible, and only did repairs if only absolutely necessary.

By the time you get their leftover real estate, it will be all used up, full of cracks and holes, need completely new HVAC.

Not only are you overpaying for garbage, you will also be on the hook for the obscenely expensive repairs and maintenance they didn't do.

And if you decide to buy a brand new home instead? It's slop-garbage slapped together by a bunch of halfwit mestizos who cut corners and fucked up lots of little shit. All of which will guarantee the house needs massive expensive repairs after only living in it for a couple years.

You are completely gutter fucked every which way from Sunday by boomers and their jew handlers no matter what housing option you choose.

That's why you build your own off grid cabin on land.

No, the government placed a moratorium on evictions, not a cancellation of rent. Legally, you still had to pay. Sure, you could refuse to pay since your landlord legally couldn't kick you out while the moratorium lasted, but he could still sue you for unpaid rent. Legally, you owed. As for mortgages, you only got a delay. So let's say you didn't have to pay for three months... on month four, all that money was due.
> SOME people got a MAXIMUM of $1200. Let's say you had no other immediate costs and put all of it into an investment that doubled in only a month, magically free of capital gains. Now you have $2400. Wow, life changing money when the price of a house doubled in a few years.
> stocks were going to the moon
You have to have disposable income to buy stocks anon.

Add on to that, if you took the government's loan to help your small business, you still owed that, while corporations sucked up much of the money meant for those small businesses through loopholes and fraud, and never paid them back. It was news for about a month and then everyone stopped talking about it.

Put at of your money in dividends, get positive returns
>>
is there something preventing the average person from buying dividend paying stocks until they have enough to just pay for a house. I started in 2009 and was done by 2019. Paid cash for my place which was $219,000.

Stocks have gone up significantly since then even more so. It was literally $100 a week at the minumum investment. You telling me you cant squeeze $100 out of your fucking budget?

Young people can't afford homes because they are young. This is nothing new. Every generation before them had a hard time affording homes when they were young and just starting adulthood.
Adjusted for age, the homeownership rates for Gen Z and Millennials is following the same pattern as it did for earlier generations. Millennials were making the same complaints 20 years ago, when they were young and just starting out. But by now, the majority of millennials own the home they live in.
The problem with Zoomers is that they have spent their entire life consooming jewslop and brainrot and propaganda from screens, and are convinced that they were going to have a mansion and expensive luxury cars and designer goods and a comfy, luxurious rich person lifestyle as soon as they turned 18 from all of the money they thought they were going to make from vlogging or streaming on twitch.
They are just spoiled and retarded.

>a starter house thats suitable for beginning a family should cost no more than 3 years minimum wage salary
That has literally never been true for the entire time they have had a minimum wage.
Minimum wage was never intended to be a family's primary income or pay well enough to buy a house. It was just the absolute bare minimum that people could agree to work for before the government would step in and say that it's unconscionable to let someone work for wages that low. It was created to stop the proliferation of sweatshops that were taking advantage of women and children desperately trying to earn additional income for their family, NOT the primary breadwinner.
Adjusted for inflation, minimum wage never paid more than about ~$12/hr in today's dollars, which would would work out to be slightly less than $75k in 2025 money after three years of working minimum wage full time, without even taking out any taxes or other expenses. And no, that has never been anywhere near enough money to buy a starter house.

Move in with mommy, except don't neet, work and save 90% of your take home in high yield savings. Mortgage companies take 5% all day long, so if you can save up $15k ($300k house) and you+spouse make combined $80k you can afford it and attain it rather easily if you're white and employed. If you're in an expensive market, move, you can buy houses in other parts of the country where $300k buys you a hell of a house.

Now I get it, this is a vent thread for demoralization but you could also just save up until you can buy in cash and skip the mortgage. There are lots of properties where they stay on the market for 180 days plus, and the reason is usually because traditional mortgages aren't allowed, cash offers for considerably under market value WILL work a lot of times, people getting divorced often will take cash offers so as to speed up their divorce by a year, etc.

Hell, there are massive job needs on random areas of the country where you will often see people throw in that they have to give a large sign bonus for their house down payment $20-30k.
