PSA atleast doesn't go fucking ballistic with over gassing AKs, still reliable when clean but not obnoxiously so. Good 30 cals can feel more like a push than a punch but 120-150 grain projectiles with a piston is going to have some meat that cannot be eliminated. 74s and 101s are conversely pretty tame from everything I've read but 7.62 and their sudo shotshell smoothbore rounds appear to be far more common for civilians in every 2nd world current or former. Even still this is just a vast improvement by cutting bullet weights in half, guns are more pleasant to shoot but still demand recoil control in hands and body to have good handling.
