>Lost their robotics, shipbuilding, rockets, nuclear, construction, machine tool, chemicals, lithography, software, semiconductors, electronics, hydrogen, biotech, aviation industry
>Failed to venture into any new technology for the last 30 years, all their remaining tech companies are decades old giants that are just coasting along on their old reputation and inertia
>They are not even bothering to try to develop new tech, there's basically zero activity in the Japanese A.I industry for example
>Even their education and R&D system is shit, with Japanese universities falling and falling further behind in the rankings every year, this days, it's rare to find a single Jap uni in the top 50 of various uni rankings
>The Japanese government has no plans to reignite innovation, their only response to the crisis for the last two decade is to blame China/South korea for their decline and trying to import even more and more jeets
>All while their main regional rivals, China and SK, are racing ahead at full speed at all the emerging technology of the future.

Japan is decaying hard. Technology is sole reason why they're relevant, and they're rapidly falling behind in literally every front. Otherwise they have nothing else. Their demographics and geography are shit, , they have very little farmland or natural resources and they're surrounded by nuclear armed hostile states. Tech is the sole reason why they have been so successful over the last century, and they're basically losing everything across the board. There's basically zero areas of the cutting edge that Japan is leading in. Taiwan has TMSC, SK has Samsung and Hydinx, America and China has dozens of leading edge companies in basically every field, even Europe has Airbus, Deepmind and ASML. Japan has....

Stocks are not reflective of reality. How else would TSLA be worth more than every other European, Japanese and American automaker combined?

>Their demographics and geography are shit

Same goes for China and South Korea, every developed and some developing countries, especially when it comes to demograpahics. Innovation is a young man's game and as Japan was first country in the region to take advantage of the demographic dividend it's also the first one to fall behind when falling birthrates caught up wit them.
>>
>>524567648
That's the thing, China and Korea both have the same demographic issues as Japan, but unlike Japan, they're actually wayyy ahead in critical technologies.
>>
>>524566860
The reason for the poor exchange rate is currency manipulation on part of rootless cosmopolitans. They don't like that Japan restricts foreign investments, particularly in the housing market. Meanwhile, in other countries, foreign investors buy up all of the housing market therefore skyrocketing mortgage and rent.
>>
>>524566860
its because theyre dumb retarded pieces of shit.

im there on holidays right now and i hope their country dies out or gets raped by indians.

they are inconsiderate pieces of trash.
>>
>>524567916
Korea is single-handedly propped up by Samsung and they have developed decades after Japan, meaning their decline will also happen decades after. China famously does not innovate as much as country that size should, they have lot of manufacturing and lot of people living in wealth and poverty, so when they need extra workers they have stockpile of poor third worlders they can bring into their first world regions of their country, basically artificially making their population younger by creating local version of the US-Third world worker scheme of importing top 1% of third worlders to boost the workforce, except with the bonus of not having to deal with jeets. This is why US and China are the only two countries growing economically for the past few decades while the rest of the world (that has access to basic necessities) stagnates.

Teslas market value is not the cars, it's their battery and self-driving vehicle tech. A large part of Teslas market value is assuming they not only crack self driving for cars they sell, but will also have the tech to retrofit literally any vehicle with cameras and steering hardware necessary for self-driving.
Its looking like they will *probably* be able to do this at some point, and nobody else is even close. And when you consider how many governments would probably require installing that hardware borderline overnight once it's truly ready, it makes their market cap reasonable.
>>524567971
Kek the reason for Japans poor exchange rate is that they've been operating under ZIRP for decades since they utterly fucked their economy via the largest real estate bust in world history. And there is no reason for JP to have had to maintain ZIRP for so long if they had actually maintained actual innovation in their economy. Instead people work at the same company their whole lives, mostly doing busy work bullshit to keep up appearances, and have created absolutely nothing of value. The only way out of an economic crisis is to grow your economy - otherwise your central bank has to play financial games for decades that may keep your economy stable but guarantees you become relatively poor compared to countries with growing economies. Remember when Japan felt rich compared to the US? Other than the good mass transit system, it is noticeably poor compared to us.
>>
>>524566860
But they're doing well in maintaining an ethnostate thats worth living in, which is all that matters.
>>
>>524569344
Not for long if they keep falling behind in technology
>>
>>524569215
>emember when Japan felt rich compared to the US? Other than the good mass transit system, it is noticeably poor compared to us.
I knew a JP foreign exchange student in the 80s and you'd better believe he was richer than even we upper middle class white kids. I didn't even know what a rolex really meant then but he had one along with all the latest clothes, video games etc.

I don't understand still why they weren't more aggressive about tech, culturally they seem to worship tech and innovation so why doesn't their government policy reflect it?

They don't worship innovation culturally at all. Literally the opposite. Japanese offices are still using fax machines en masse. It's like they discovered a hyper optimized way of working for a 1980s/early 1990s tech level and decided to never try anything new ever again.
>>
>>524566860
Japan doesnt need to improve itself anymore because they dont live and or share much space with people who still live in huts with shit filtered cigarettes. Many things are still cheap, singular beers and salmon snacks in a rich country; they definitely dont need advice in economics. You should probably start focusing on how to make your own environment bearable you little hooker crying over burnout projecting/deflecting

By critical technology you mean semiconductor maybe...which is destined to be annihilated when the current AI scam falls.
I just want to tell SEA niggers to mind their own business seriously. Maybe they want to feel some catharsis watching their retarded countries getting more GDP or "technology" while traditional powers like Japan or Europe declining. Just pointless and pathetic as shit if you ask me.
>>
>>524566860
>Look at mah paper reality charts, japan must let us muslims in!!!!
>>
>>524566860
"Innovation" in 2025 has been the equivalent of slapping a Wi-Fi on your fridge and gooning to AI porn. I can't wait until this bubble pops. Guess which country is an expert in surviving a stagnant economy? Japan. The only thing left is for it to be allowed a military, preferably with nukes and it will be good for the next few hundred years until we start moving planets.
>>
>>524571680
off all people a Singaporian is crying about Japan having job tact for companies to keep striving, what is it about liberals stretching and reaching for arguments about nothingburgers? Do you understand the word stability in anything?

japan is one of the few countries where companies still care about quality of the shit they sell. japanese tools are always the best, longest lasting, and when they do break you can order parts from the manufacturer unlike with western brands.
>>
>>524572830
Good for you chink. Rub that technology harder to your microsoft til you can finally forget the rape or nanking and singapore or something.
God the japanese were too benign they should have compeltely wiped out the chink kind from the planet.
>>
>>524573118
But they didn't and they have been in decline for the last 30 years. Speaking of hypotheticals is just cope for losers.

>muh falling behind.
Meanwhile my country is struggling HARD to build a fucking railway. I think the japs are lightyears ahead of any western nation.

Just admit that any tech you have access to in the west they also have in japland.

If they can walk home at night without having to watch for niggers they are living cleaner, healthier, safer, more prosperous, lives.

Oh is someone butthurt? We have a dozen "Europe is stagnating" threads a day, but Japan is off limits? Japan is been stuck in a technological rut for the last 30 years and has been completely unable to innovate. It's so bad that the fax machine memes aren't even memes but facts.
>>524573791
Britain is also one example of a country that fell behind in technology hard, and your current economical conditions are a a result of that. You can already see the damage done to Japan's economy and quality of life.
>>
>>524574169
>We have a dozen "Europe is stagnating" threads a day, but Japan is off limits?

Well, those threads weren't made by the same seething singaporean chink

At least Europe still has a handful of strong companies. ASML, Rolls Royce, Airbus and Deepmind. Japan has very little left in the way of critical technology or companies.
>>
>>524575944
>Rolls Royce
Lol that's not even in the top 10 selling auto companies. Toyota is number 1. You are really bad at this
>>
>>524566860
Japan still filed as many trademarks in 2024 as the whole of the US or China. Both countries with massively more population as Japan.
Japan's economy is still 24% industrial, vs the west which is all horse shit "Financial services".

Japan is doing fine.
>>
>>524566860
>there's basically zero activity in the Japanese A.I industry for an example
All this tells me is Japan will inherit the Earth after the slopbubble pops
>>
>>524576295
Do you have any idea just how potent RR is in the field of jet and marine engines? They are dominant in turbofan and other engine tech. Does Japan have a single company that can produce high bypass turbofans? There's literally only 3 companies in the world that can make them. GE, safan and RR.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolls-Royce_Trent

The level of Japan dick sucking in /pol/ is off the charts. We get a dozen threads a day on how Europe tech sector is dying, how Europe has completely stagnated and is doomed, but Japan barely gets any mention despite them stagnating far far more then Europe.
>>
>>524576903
LoL. Japan can't make turbofans or other high end engines. They can't make any semiconductors smaller than 14nm. They can't make high end lithography machines. They can't make high end sensors. They can't make heavy lift rockets. They can't do software like at all. But they make good cars, so ignore all the other crippling weakness of their high end industrial sector.
>>
Japan still has lolicon
>>
>>524568664
This. Funding comes in waves and capitalists chasing coattails/trends.
