>>524576330I do all the time. It's a perfect shill and nornie barometer. Lately incoherent shills have been refusing to say anything except "BUY BUY BUY OR YOURE A TRANNY" so I assumed a dip was coming. I'm pretty sure the spike in silver is a direct consequence of the recent spike in hardware prices like RAM since it's neccesary conductor in any and all advanced hardware. So long as the ai boom is ongoing silver prices will continue to climb. It's used in plenty of other places though and still has it's inate value as a precious metal and use as a historical store of value though so it seems to me to be an indirect way to invest in those markets without directly supporting them and also being lower risk and less volatile if the bubble should burst.

>>524586485The AI narrative for silver is absolute horseshit. At least the Samsung battery narrative has some truth. The fact is the silver rally is being driven by gold which has been rallying hard because China stopped buying US treasuries in favor of gold. This all started once the Biden administration stopped paying interest on Russia’s US treasury holdings. Now China is building gold vaults around the world, making the Yuan a floating gold backed currency. Silver is rallying in sympathy and more recently because it was given strategic mineral status. This rally will not stop until China stops buying gold, which isn’t going to happen anytime soon.

>>524587100>silver hasn't been relevant as money since all the empires stopped using silver because it didn't allow them to print as much money because silver was more readily available, so instead they switched to gold which was harder to get>China and Hong Kong were the last to abandon the silver standard in 1935, forced off it largely by the U.S. Silver Purchase Act of 1934 which drained their silver reserves

>>524587169If we divided all of the gold in the world equally then each person would have .84 ounces. That’s not enough to work as money. This is exactly why silver was monetized. Later this was all replaced with paper claims called dollars because they were more convenient to carry around. Eventually this was all abused by governments and now we have a permanent state of inflation when technological advancements are inherently deflationary. Bitcoin is the only real solution to this problem, not trust me bro claims on silver and gold which have already impoverished the working poor.

>>524587897I sold more 1s and 0s to fund my silver stack.
>>524587341You can never buy silver at the stock-paper ("spot") price. It is always more expensive. However, the premium you pay over spot does change, and right now on places like apmex they are charging an outrageous premium over spot. A typical amount should be $2-3 over spot, they are charging 3x that at $9 over spot. When you try to sell, they do the exact same thing and buy from you at lower than the spot price. Which means you can end up paying a 10-20% fee, effectively, just to buy and sell the physical silver. This is how the bullion traders make all their money - taking a massive cut of any trades you make in physical silver and typically being the only ones to actually profit off anything.
>>524587853The gains in gold and silver over the past 5 years have obliterated inflation, it’s the “experts” in index funds and bonds who are underperforming against inflation.

>>524588678If you dont think the future is a precious metals/oil backed crypto you are being willfully dishonest. We arent going to be haggling over silver coins in the market, but whatever currency replaces the shitcoin that is the modern USD will certainly be backed by something real and tangible, judging by the actions of BRICS that will be silver and gold or maybe a basket of commodities.
>>524575937I am a retard when it comes to investing. But I remember gamestop stock doing something similar. Everyone said it was overshorted so people buy and hold so short positions cannot get enough bought back to return stocks when people started calling them for their stock back. So some companies force sold people holding gamestop for safety of the investor that bought a $120 stock at $5 or something retarded to pump supply into market. Is that essentially what happened here?
>>524586485Silver price increases are driven by the following:1. Market manipulation (the primary cause) - for decades silver's value has been artificially depressed, and this has resulted in bare-minimum investment into silver mines2. Industrial usage of silver has been rising, especially with solar panels and now batteries; it's one of the most conductive and corrosion resistant metals, e.g. useful. Industrial consumption of silver now exceeds silver production from mines3. China has now banned export of silver, and they make up 80% of the world's silver productionthere is a diminishing supply of silver available, it is not being mined out of the ground faster than it is being used up and the biggest supplier just dropped out of the western markets. Going by the laws of supply and demand, China should actually have cheaper silver than the west does, but it's the opposite right now because western parasites artificially depress silver prices, which then causes a massive silver outflow into china due to arbitrage. China is gobbling this shit up while it should actually be going the opposite direction right now. It's really just a question of how long before the suppression of silver in the west can no longer keep up. China's silver export ban while being both the primary consumer+producer means silver is going to preferentially accumulate in their market and get sucked out of western markets. When this finally corrects, silver prices in china will be 'low' but silver prices in the west will be astronomical.
>>524588678I will. And when you come here and lie about silver, saying its not money, and gold is heavily used in industry, expect me to point out your kikery.

ctrl + f "chase" zero resultsOP is a faggot? No mention of the chase bank story that was up this morning... Chase iirc known for potential manipulation of the silver supply. And now theres huge investors buying 300k oz loads.... Why isn't this thread about that? How fucked is chase? Do they have billions of slips of paper claiming to own ze zilver, but really have no zilver?

Damn i wished that i had been edgyier and actually went with it... Funny how rationality fucked me over right there... Will regret it for the rest of my live... >>524591762Something being rare is not about total quantity. For example say half the worlds food disappears overnight. We still have a bunch of food. You would say its quite common. I would say its rare because wed see mass starvation and death due to the famine.Silver use vastly outstrips its production. Making the actual physical product rare. This is why a pure physical market (shaghai) has a much higher silver price than our market. How do you not understand this simple concept? Right paid kike shill. >>524575937>Bitcoin plummets to 100,000
>>524591762No, you're just really stupid. You could probably neet as your stupidity should count as a disability, as you are clearly, retarded.I'll explain for you, after all, not your fault for having the intellect of an inbred mudslime jeet jew hybrid.Shiny rock exists, shiny rock is turned into tiny tiny pieces to power glowing rock pad parts and many many other things you have a hard time understanding. The more you have a hard time understanding what something is, the more likely it is that it uses silver in even smaller pieces. These pieces are too hard to grab and use, so big shiny rocks become rarer. Some people dig out shiny rocks, but not many, as they were never enough tendies given out to feed more shiny rock grabbers. These shiny rocks also require more digging to find. Now the toy box of shiny rocks is almost empty, and people are willing to offer more tendies so they can turn big shiny rock pieces into small shiny rock pieces, so that they can get tendies in exchange for the glowing rock pads and other hard to understand things. This is because the glowing rock pads sell for lots of tendies for the amount of small shiny rock pieces they have to offer. They cannot make these glowing rock pads without small shiny rock pieces. Eventually, too many tendies will be asked for shiny rock pieces, but we are a long way from that, as people really like their shiny rock pads.Do you understand now, good boy?
>>524592495Bitcoin down 1000 dollars an ounce!!!
>>524592418You are retarded. So surpluses and shortages never exist? There has never been a famine or flood in history? Good to know! >>524590502That’s always true , in the most horrible conditions…air , water , food , clothing , shelter , protection / weapons. Horses for courses as they say , in a national/ societal collapse these will be the most important. Any these can be used for trade / barter if you have excess.Next is storing your wealth, you can’t hide or protect a warehouse of food so you hide silver and gold. Or trading X for Y, you only have corn and I have meat, but I don’t want to trade my meat for corn , you give me money , silver / gold.

>>524575937>dipshit bought in at 80 rather then 15.
>>524592563A shortage is when the market doesn't clear due to the price being too low. There is no "outstripping". That's nonsense. Quantity supplied always equals quantity demanded. Supply and demand are not the same as quantity supplied/demanded.
>>524577052This
gold and silver will never know its true value when the govt still controls the economy
>>524592652Yes, but no one will ever reuse the tiny shiny rock pieces again, they are too small and too stuck inside the glowing rock bits to use again, so now there is less available for replacing glowing rock toys, like the one you are using right now. Also, when the toy box of shiny rocks is full, technically, you can give out shiny rocks for free, but when there is less or sure to be less, people will fight or offer more to have the remaining shiny rocks, that haven't been split into tiny pieces for glowing rock pads to work.
>>524591371And you won’t, it’s not taxable traceable. In small transactions a scale is used silver or gold is shaved off and weighed. Or larger, coins or bars are used.

>>524592930Unfortunately, to whatever degree that's happening, it's easily abused. You have to trust it's actual 100% silver, which is difficult. The ingot that guy I mentioned used, for example, wasn't pure silver. Any trading going on between people who don't know one another like brothers will have to use other methods
