>Yeah let’s just have a ritual where a couple kisses in front of everybody including their family as the ceremony, then the rest of the day they’re expected to kiss constantly in front of photographers and family!

It’s literally a perversion of social norms since any other time it’s considered rude to kiss in front of people but on a wedding night it becomes mandatory. I’m Muslim and we don’t do this, I was at my friends wedding and it was the couple kissing the entire time.

Marriage existed before Christianity.

It was humanity's invention to prevent STDs (most of them were lethal). STD were seen as punishment from God or Gods for not being faithful
