A big bank is trapped in silver as they are short in the asset.
Big, big bank.

Reminder that silver bugs are completely delusional.
Silver prices are mooning because of the AI bubble (AI needs power systems which use a lot of silver) and Chyna cutting supplies to be their usual asshole selves

sure, maybe. I'm out of /biz/ talk for last 10 years, but let me tell you one key thing that silver bugs are right. Physical silver vs silver contracts ratio is massive. If ever there were conditions that would put a huge demand for physical silver this unhealthy discrepency would chair crush the entire system like dominos.
>>
>>524587707
massive compared to what other industrial commodity? Oil?
>>
>>524587868
Yeah it's like 100x worse

Yes. Insane. Think of it as an achilees heel of the system. Its safe though, nobody will buy that much physical at once so don't worry, but if you wanted to really fuck up the system, that's where you aim. Same like with usa and power grid. You can just disable power, internet cables, plant huge fires easy in usa and not even bother with expensive 1v1 wars. Every system has its weak spots.

It would make more sense for UBS to get caught short. JP Morgan pretty famously went net long last month.
>>
>>524588288
First of all, it really bugs me that the word "investment" gets abused like this. Gold is supposed to be the opposite of an investment, for example. It is literal cold hard cache.
Secondly, what percentage of silver is being used for non-industrial purposes?
>>
>>524587490
The problem is the mine only produces so much silver in mining a year.
Trump wars costing Americans weapons and no materials for industry.
Africa
Venezuela
Iran
Ukraine

Big supply of oil, there's only so much silver
>>
>>524587490
I was going to say, I wonder if the bank could just buy the highest yielding silver mine and open an operation. Actually they probably already own the mines and they’re cheering on the price of silver going up. You guys know back in the day there was a company that created a process to extract silver from X-ray film. There were people whose job it was to drive around the country with a briefcase full of silver bars going to doctors offices and trading silver bars for X-ray film. When I sat and thought about it, I was kinda like wouldn’t the patient who paid for the X-rays be entitled to a portion of the silver or the money? I’d bet they say they factor it in to their prices but everyone knows that’s a bunch of shit; otherwise while silver goes up the cost of X-rays should come down. Just did a google search, the royal mint partnered with a company who uses X-ray silver to create overpriced jewelry and really get the most bang for their buck out of it. Do ya think any portion of it goes back to the patient who paid for the X-rays?
>>
>>524588635
LOL, how are you making the comparison? Also, the demand for both is industrial in nature
>>
>>524588492
US Bank that shorted it, you can look at who was shorting silver
>>
>>524588517
Don't matter bro. Its simple. There are way to many contracts than physical. If all these contracts start saying I want my silver here now, then there isn't enough silver.

Because opec wants money and control
USA produces more oil then opec.
America uses a lot of oil
Everyone but Israel has oil , I guess Gabriel was wrong or ?
>>
>>524587196
Yes but look at the chart and see what happened at 50-55. You had weeks of consolidation and profit taking, some longs liquidated surely. The raised cme margin requirements, it was bound to liquidate some and free u from some much needed contracts but once the weaker etfs are out, retail hasn't even started paying attention in America they are net selling. Every fucking manufacturer that needs less than an oz per product but they need that in order to have a product to sell is getting their silver no matter the cost, more than they used to purchase several times over and they are taking delivery. This short term price raise meant more going for sale but not one new mine is open, one big one is still down, refineries are still backed up and at risk and China limits exports in three days. CME did this in 2011 and price cratered immediately, this time there remains resistance.
>>
>>524588827
That is what is happening, mines are behind and supply is in a big demand.
>>
>>524589147
Yup. If it doesn't crater they're going to have to go to the big guns to kill silver
>>
>>524588525
>orange man
>>
>>524589029
It's a pull back not a correction, a correction would have kept going but it pulled back up to 6 % because assets got liquidated.
After January 1 someone is going to explain a bank closing
Or merger
>>
>>524588896
What is even less deep is I was asking how you make the comparison to come up with the stated conclusion, which this reply does not in any way whatsoever

>what this even means?
a jew gets one bar of silver. the jew "sells" it to goyim multiple times by writing a piece of paper saying the goy owns the bar. suddenly 3 goy show up wanting to see their bar of silver. the jew only has one bar of silver. the jew calls up some other jews and they make a law bailing out the jew. the federal government gives the jew two more bars of silver for free so the goy will still believe the jew has the silver he is supposed to. because the jew has written millions of receipts and probably only has the one bar. that's jew banking in a nutshell.

>silver goes up by 60% in 3 months
>silver goes up by +30% in a month
>and over +20% in the week
>goes down -9% in a day and gets stuck at -9% for the entirety of the day
>it remains +20% in the week, +30% in the month and +56% in 3 months after -9%
>all available silver is completely sold out
>shills are claiming that silver is completely doomed
Lol lmao
And here I am, having +80% of all my silver bought at 25 burger shekels
Long dragons always win

Maybe China is trying to fuck the US financial sector by banning exports. They were the largest exporter of silver up until now. Buyers give dogshit premiums now because they say the refineries can't keep up. They are only interested in 99.99% silver.
