Yeah, that's a fair summary of it all. I believe it's mostly due to an old real truth of going for averages, and it turned out that any european other than iberians were new arrivals while the iberians already in the new world (due to already being here for a while) had a higher likelihood of having shitskin mixture, and it was inversely also the case that most shitskins had iberian blood but not any other blood as there weren't any other groups before the 19th century, that pretty much held true in most of the continent until the middle 20th century, so a generation ago. I'm of the opinion that as far as generalizations were concerned, an Alvarez or Alves was much more likely to be a shitsking that an Alighieri, as the former were common names among the indio/nigger population and the actual families was more likely to have some shitskin blood while it was pretty much impossible for the latter. Around here, most people are just Iberian mutts, so if you've got any other European mix that's not Iberian, you instantly get put on a higher level. You're seen as "different" and usually fairer skinned, since straight-up Iberian mutts are brown. People here really struggle to even count Portuguese/Spanish folks as properly white or European.

There used to be entire towns populated almost entirely by Germans and other northern Europeans.
