My very well connected rich boss (CEO of the company) who went to business school with all the people in politics and business is confident that the war will end with a victory of the West.
He says that time is on our side. As things stand, it's a game of who goes bankrupt first. Even without US support, Russia will collapse far sooner than we can go bankrupt.

Then the following he didn't say but is my own opinion:
That's also the reason why the US is acting out, attacking and harassing Europe, kinda helping Russia and basically sabotaging negotiations. The way things stand, the war will end in a way that will be very beneficial to Europe and the EU. Far more beneficial than it will be for the US. The US doesn't see the EU as an ally, but competitor if not an enemy. It's an entity that made its client states difficult. For the US it's better if the war ends in a way that there's no clear winners, that it drags for as long as possible (especially because they sell the weapons) and that it doesn't result in a uncontested victor. Hence why even though they're kind of helping Russia, they don't fully stop helping Ukraine.

tl;dr= Russia is toast and America is just trying to sabotage the EU's incoming glorious victory and access to vast resources.
