Companies have to make stock price go up every year. It is not acceptable for stock price to not go up. They can make stock price go up in several ways. One of which is to expand their product offerings. Reach more customers, make customers buy more product. This is the preferable strategy, because if your rivals can do this while you are doing enshitiffication, you lose customers. The other strategy is to reduce costs. You find ways of doing things more efficiently. You find ways to sell less for the same cost. You find ways to get workers to do more for less.

We have run out of ways for companies to expand.
We have run out of ways for companies to do things more efficiently.
What remains is to get existing workers to do more, while not giving them raises. And to offer worse product offerings (i.e. shrinkflation)

Because everyone is employing the same strategy, there is no market punishment for doing it. McDonalds offers shit wages, but every other company is also offering maybe $1 or $2 an hour more than McDonalds. Because they don't need to do more because that's what everyone else on the market is offering.

Gen Y chiming in here... Trade schools cost almost as much as university.

For the author of that article to equate a person's lack of a certification in a trade with an unwillingness to work in a trade is presumptuous at best and, at worst, a blatant attempt to re-assign the blame for this situation upon our generation.

What am I supposed to do as a 36-year-old who works in fast food whose hobbies involve computational physics? Am I supposed to take out big loans to go to school in my spare time while I work full time and also live in a car? Am I supposed to take out a slightly smaller loan in order to get a job as a welder which isn't really complicated enough to justify requiring a certification? I am not mechanically inclined, personally, so the fact is that I need to do something which I know for certain that I can do.

For me, getting a trade certification in my early 40s would, if I could do it, double my income, but that income would go toward what? Rent? Then I would not actually be saving more than I am now paying no rent at all. Should I go through all of that so I can live inside of a nicer, newer car?

Just which part of this was my doing and who are these people who think they should be able to tell me what to do?

I went through school, was told I'd have a rich and easy life, then was abruptly told at the end of Secondary School that I was on my own. No one attempted to explore my options for university with me and no one explained how I was supposed to pay for university. I just told them that I wanted to go military and they didn't even try to stop me.

Hey anon I'm the same age as you and also didn't end up quite where I intended to (heh heh), let me tell you something, these articles are either written by Jews or people who work for them, and the Jews have been carrying out an evil agenda against our people for several decades. What you should do outside of your job in fast food and hobby in computational physics is learn as much as you can about the nature of the Jews so that everything becomes clearer. Don't let anyone provoke you into acting irrationally with career, marriage, etc.; the only person whose opinion matters at the end of the day is God's...

Take car, sit in traffic 45 min each way. After 9.5+ hour mandatory overtime factory job. Get 4 hours free time to relax, shower off the oil and metal savings, cook dinner, feed pets water plants etc and maybe spend an hour or two with family if schedules overlap.
Or spend 2 hours on the bus each way surrounded by scum, then have just enough time to shower, eat, and catch your breathe before having to sleep to get enough hours sleep to do it all again. Plus all groceries and other errands must be done on the weekend. And hopefully you don't got 6 day super slave workweeks like some factories or your only day off is for errands, no hobbies, no nurturing family or friend relationships. Oh no why am I alone divorced with failing health hoping for just enough time off to catch up on sleep.

Looking for serious advice.

I have a mechanical engineering degree, worked at a water treatment plant for 2.5 years and then went to open my open business and couldn’t scale the profit up after 7 years. I’m 37 years old now. I want a job in ANY country but this fucking shithole. I don’t care what the job is. Easiest place to get it is apparently in the US in Texas. I’d have to find a job that hires engineers or close to engineers to qualify for the TN visa. I also need to target medium sized companies directly (no recruiters).

Any anons got advice? I’m just so fucking tired. I don’t want to work at a water treatment plant because it’s full of politics. I’m looking to target the countries that will get me hired asap and I got the following from ChatGPT:

This is always the answer when there's a 'labor shortage'. There's a shortage of labor at the rock bottom price the employer wants to pay. The employer will never pay actual market rate for the job but instead shriek about 'nobody wants to work'. Of course nobody wants to work for a pittance. It's degrading and offers no prospect of ever owning a home, something boomers took for granted as a benefit of working.
