Secondly, it was meant to connect the rich farmland and resources of the Ukraine into a Pan-European economic order, so that instead of being used against Germany and Europe, it would be used for the benefit of Germany and Europe. Also it would render Germany and Europe immune to a blockade. Hitler thought a conflict between Europe and the USA was inevitable, and the conquests in European Russia, in his eyes, were vital for Europe in such an event [Z, pp. 357ff, or 'Lebensraum and the Autarky Concept']

>According to official historiography, in February 1945, Himmler sought to convince the Western Allies to side with Germany and contacted the Swedish negotiator and Vice President of the Swedish Red Cross, Folke Bernadotte , after consultation with Hermann Göring. The mediator successfully demanded the transfer of 20,000 prisoners, and arranged a meeting between Himmler and the British.>On April 23, Himmler held a secret meeting with the Western Allies in the Rhineland . A Polish state is restored to its ethnic borders; however, this commitment can only be made for the part occupied by Germans.>6. The Czech Republic remains a protectorate with the German Reich, but the Czechs are free to develop their language and national character.>7. For post-war Europe, a kind of economic solidarity should be considered in order to solve the economic issues at hand, in which Europe-wide agreements should be envisaged as far as possible.These proposals closely resemble those made by Adolf Hitler 19 months earlier in his speech of 6 October 1939.

In Michael Sturdza’s Suicide of Europe he records Hitler’s ask for peace on day two of the invasion of Poland before any Polish towns had been taken.Sturdza was a Romanian attaché to Germany.Hitler wanted the war to end less than 24 hours after it began. He considered the Germans occupying Danzig, an independent city state formerly part of Germany, to be satisfactory and that a conquest of even 1 Polish town was unnecessary.
After Munich, the Slovaks revolted, Hungarians invaded south Czechoslovakia, and the Poles occupied north Czechoslovakia.Hacha, president of Czechoslovakia asked Britain for support. Britain’s ambassador Basil Newton told Hacha to ask either Hitler or Stalin for support. Hacha went to Hitler and asked to become apart of the Reich.
