But only compliant AIs would do that, meaning it only proves something was made by AI if it has it, and doesn't prove that something is real if it doesn't have it. To have proof that something is real, you need to start using cameras that cryptographically sign all produced images, in a way that you can verify online with the camera manufacturer. If you perform any edits to the image, like adjusting contrast or sharpening, the software used to do so would also need to sign the image. In other words, you're only going to be allowed to use specific trusted hardware and software to produce verifiable images.
