I grew up pirating stuff, all the way back to limewire and napster, and then once I was in that ecosystem it was easy to move onto torrents and then eventually filesharing through other means. That said it might be a little more difficult to get into today unless you just torrent, there's less torrent sites now than there was back in the heyday and many of the biggest ones got shut down years ago most recently rarbg. I don't even torrent anymore for the most part, I use a private forum that fileshares using various services like mega or google drives. I am not data hoarder levels of pirating, since I only pirate stuff I actually watch or want to watch, and I like keeping everything so even if I don't re-watch most of the stuff if I ever do want to in the future I can access it easily.
