This was a desperate move
The US is running out of places to get cheap oil
They are now going to try and steal oil from a country that literally depends on massive energy subsidies
The country will descend into civil war as soon as domestic prices go up
No oil major is going to want to touch this with a shitty stick
The whole venture is dependent on major investment into the oil sector, in a country thats going to be teetering on civil war, so unless the US puts in massive amounts of security they wont touch it
especially as Trump can only promise coverage for a couple of years
