You need a supercomputer to simulate a bunch of neurons.Neuromorphic computing is only in the development. This resolves around creating artificial neurons out of other materials that can be implemented into a chip with different materials than our brain uses. While this one looks like the most straightforward and closest way to the goal, the current tech isn't there as there is no "nice" way mimic the function of neuron with some other materials. There are talks about memristors and such but it's not even clear if it will lead to what we want to make in first place and it would require trillions of dollars to develop this tech from ground up because it does not work on silicon. You need to tell companies that they need to throw away 50 years of silicon technology just because this one might be better. Capitalism doesn't work on such timescale. That's why you see companies dumping billions into dead end GPUs and RAM for this AI. The issue is it's not intelligent just from the basic level and emulating intellect by buying up all energy and chips in the world will not bring it anywhere close enough. Considering it's not even scalable because for making this emulation a little bit smarter you require exponentially more chips and power
