People were experimenting more with 3DCGI. Computers were still Windows 3.1 and required knowledge of DOS and early internet was a mystery. Movies were good and TV was starting the whole fandom thing. Dallas Cowboys were the team for sportsball. You saw the signs of woke but it was not taken serious. Culturally you were moving towards political correctness and things you can't say in public. People were mostly cool and you could still play outside. Kids were still latchkey and school sucked. The second half of the decade was more pop and more clique like. Tech shifted hard and you got 3D in Playstation and N64. Computers no longer required DOS on the front end. Clothing trends were always huge and skating became mainstream. WWF exploded and backyard wrestling was a fun thing to do. Green Bay Packer fever was hitting a high and anime started becoming accepted. 1999 ended on a high note with a small concern of Y2K but is all finished out nicely and hopeful.

And shifting back to nostalgia for 90s media, the younger generations cant possibly understand its significance to the older generations, it was their escapism and it was finite in terms of levels of consumption.
