I’m ready to hear the opinions of the people of /pol/ whether weed should be legal or not. On one hand it severely rots and damages your brain, especially if you’re under 25 and your frontal lobe and your brain in general isn’t fully developed yet(I know because I used to struggle with weed when I was young). On the other hand it’s up to you if you want to destroy your own brain and your own life. I personally think weed should be only legal to buy since 20 something years old, even 18 is too young to buy weed because if you’re 18-24 you’re only adult on a paper but your brain is still not fully developed yet and you still can’t fully think rationally and realize what kind of severe permanent damage weed can cause to your still developing brain
Yeah it should be. The thing is, I'm an old head, we used to get mexibrick in the 90s and it was awful, but this new shit is dumb potent.I can take 1-3 hits on the weekends and be blown for 4 hours, no bullshit hangovers.Alcohol is far more destructive
>>525725120Me rn. It is legal lol
>>525725120I think weed, as in the quality of it, was better when it was illegal. The legal growers fuck with it too much now and it’s just too potent to enjoy. Dispensary weed has a unique taste and smell that’s awful there’s some kind of chemical fuckery afoot and so I just quit years ago and never looked back.
>>525725120all drugs should be legal to make and legal to take
>>525725362Retarded opinion. This was tried in Oregon and it was a catastrophe until they finally gave up and repealed it.
>>525725350ThisEver since it was legalized it stopped feeling good and just makes you feel like shit.Makes you fat too.Fuck the government! Keep your hands off of my crops!
>>525725120it should be legal but apartments should ban it and be allowed to use lethal force against anyone smoking weed in an apartmentpeople who have property or go out to proper areas to smoke it are alrightpeople who force a bunch of others to smell their stinky cheap shit weed need to be shot
>ban>ban natureOP is retarded, he said so himself.
>>525725120Weed is illegal in disciplined & developed countries such as Singapore, South Korea, Japan & China. Why should countries legalize something great countries illegalize? unless the ruling class wants the populace to be dumb, easy to fool & complacent
>>525725262Yes. The quality of weed has significantly improved. But the quality of alcohol? Still the same shit.
>>525725350>Dispensary weed has a unique taste and smell that’s awful there’s some kind of chemical fuckery afoot Lysol. That’s what it smells and tastes like. Some type of citrusy industrial cleaner or disinfectant.
>>525725120it should absolutely be legal, across the board. People should have the absolute right to self medicate.
>>525725120if alcohol is shilled all over the place, I think weed should be legal too, no need for shilling
>>525725120I have epilepsy and during the aura before a seizure, I have time to stop it by taking CBD or smokingThe pharma meds they gave me didnt help lol
>>525725120They want it illegal because it wakes NPCs up from their zogged-out haze, even if they don't become potheads per se.
It should, but I believe THC limit maybe should be limited. Unpopular opinion but this nu-weed makes me schizo.Old weed was better even if it was trash weed.
>>525725120should the government control what you put into your body?
>>525726007>The quality of weed has significantly improved100% disagree. Potency has increased but the overall quality of the high is terrible in comparison to 2011 weed. Used to be you'd get high and go on a hike to appreciate your surroundings more. These days kids vape some Frankenstrain with a dumb name like Kevin Spacey FaceTime and spend their entire high laying down monitoring their heart rate.
>>525725120yes, obviouslyits healthier than alchohol, by a wide margin, especially so if you don't actually smoke it (edibles/vaporizers/etc). afaik there isn't even an established lethal dosage. perhaps more importantly, its less socially harmful than alcohol, again by a wide margin. alcohol promotes risky and harmful behavior, its a key component in most bar fights, sexual assaults, gambling, traffic fatalities, domestic abuse. stoners on the other hand, they tend to chill out on a couch, binge watch some netflix or play some vidya, order some dominoes and fall asleep early. which, granted, is not exactly a set of behaviors that will lead to personal growth, but its much less harmful to others than what alcohol promotes.and, finally, marijuana is compatible with being a responsible adult. you can get high out of your mind in the evening, and, assuming you get adequate sleep, you will wake up feeling just fine the next morning. you can go to work, do your chores, whatever. i know there's some people that report feeling a bit "fuzzy" on the day after, but i've personally never experienced that, and even the worst such reports don't hold a candle next to an actual hangover, like alcohol induces. so, yea, overall, we have a a drug that is much less harmful than alcohol, both to the user and the society around the user, and that doesn't actually prohibit people from being productive members of society. i see absolutely no reason why it should be banned>inb4 i know stoners who have wasted their livesthey were wasting their lives anyway. weed is what they do to cope/be less bored. there's tons of people out there living very productive lives while also getting high on the regular. weed doesn't make you unmotivated or lazy (at least not when you're not actually high), but if you're unmotivated and lazy, well, why not smoke some weed while you're not doing anything.>inb4 i don't like weed/it makes me paranoid/etcnot a reason to ban it
>>525725262
>>525726108>nu-weed makes me schizo. The CIA used their MKULTRA research to modify cannabis strains around 1999, and then the internet to distribute the seeds to the masses.
>>525725120>>525725262>>525726961you're enslaved to murderers and liars so bad they have you arguing over a plant on the internet and doubting your very lives
>>525726848>>inb4 i don't like weed/it makes me paranoid/etcThis is such a lame argument. What kind of wimp "gets paranoid" on weed? I smoked it for 11 years and far from getting paranoid, I got totally laid back and happy. People that get paranoid on it are probably really neurotic little jews, Ben Shapiro type social rejects.
>>525725120Idc I'm gonna blaze it either way but it is legal in my state
>>525727193it's caffiene. coffee/energy drinks and weed combined will amplify the nervousness caffiene brings. almost every 'paranoid' smoker will say drinking too much coffee gives the same feelings
>>525726848Maar wat zou volgens je de minimumleeftijd moeten zijn? 18 vind ik nog te jong, minstens 21 denk ik
>>525725120its a fucking plant after all, and since its existence nobody ever died smoking that shitlegalize weed and ban alcohol, alcohol nukes peoples brain
>>525728685sry buddy, i don't actually speak stroopwafel (even tho i went to uni in NL)but i speak enough of it to guess what you were asking-imo it should be legal at the same time you become an adult, which is 18 in most (nearly all) countries. not because there's something magical about that number, but because becoming an adult means you get to make your own choices, even if they're stupid-i would advise everyone to try to keep it to a minimum until they're at least 25, which afaik is about the age when your brain has finished cooking. till that age, i'd suggest treating it as special occasions thing only, at most once a week.
>>525725120Sounds to me like you're frustrated because your 20 year old kids aren't letting you bully them into giving you free work.
>>525725120I have edibles now and again. Should be legal. I prefer it over alcohol.
>>525728996I respect your opinion but I still think minimal age to buy weed should be at least 21, better if 24. Again, when you’re 18-23 you’re only adult on a paper but your brain is still not fully developed yet and first of all weed can cause severe permanent damage to your still developing brain, second of all you can’t fully think rationally and realize what kind of severe permanent damage weed can cause to you
>>525725120I've never seen a pothead in the news for beating his wife and kids but I've seen plenty with alcoholics beating their wife and kids.
>>525725120It should be legal because it’s a plant that grows naturally. The only plant that should be illegal is probably opium but even that I’m hesitant to say should be illegal, because unrefined opium isn’t nearly as bad as even OxyContin is.That being said, there’s a huge problem of people downplaying the negative effects of weed and doctors should take responsibility to warn people that it is harmful in subtle ways and smoking it everyday is very bad for you.As is, everyone is pretending there’s nothing wrong with getting high 24/7 which is weird. It very obviously affects how you function as a person.
I don't really care. I smoked it when it was illegal, I smoke it now that it's legal, and I'll continue to smoke it if they recriminalize it.
>>525729259the thing is, the whole "is the brain finished developing" thing is not a boolean. 25 is the commonly accepted age for "yea, ok, its finished by now", but its also "mostly finished" by 21. and "pretty close to finished" by 18. its a sigmoid, not a step function, and the biggest part of that sigmoid is done early on, when you're a teen. anyway, like i said, i'm definitely on board with advising people to keep it light till 25, i just don't think banning people till that age makes sense. if you're old enough to get a drink, move out, go to college, get a job, etc, etc, you're old enough to smoke some weed too. some people will be smart and keep it light, others won't. same as with booze. that's just life. you can't keep people in a cage forever, and its basically impossible to do so after they've moved out of their parents house and become functionally independent, either because they left for college or moved in with friends/partners, got a job and have their own money, etc.
>>525725900just smoke some weed bro and you wont even notice their smell. its win win
>>525725120I can't stand dudeweed, but I don't mind it being legalized. It gets rid of my competition when they're too fucking high to even do anything of worth.Just stop taking scalding hot showers, that's bad for you dudeweeds. Means it's hyperemesis syndrome.
