>>525761552If you are using a quality red/green 2 MOA dot sight, you can definitely push it to 300-500 un-magnified much easier than iron sights. It's a combination of being able to see your holdover (putting your target below the dot) and your eyes having an easier time focusing on both the dot and your target at the same time, both of which are a lot harder with iron sights. Iron sights are really only ideal for CCW handguns and as backup sights on a rifle for when your either broke your optic or you don't have ready access to batteries like in Ukraine.
