Russia military looks weaker than assumed because of this, but who does this benefit? It surely isn't Ukraine.

What has Ukraine lost to this war?
At best, Russia gets a portion of land to place under their control, but if Ukraine "won" today, the consequences of this war still will effect them for generations. This is only exacerbated the longer it goes on, so dunking on Russia isn't the win you think it is. The longer this goes, the worst it is going to be for Ukraine, regardless if Russia withdraws in defeat or not in the end.
