It's absolutely OVER. Deepfake technology has not only gotten extremely credible, but also very accessible. Governments will use this to justify and intensify their censorship over content that don't suit their narrative and to maintain and grow their power. Meanwhile, fake content that does no harm to the powerful people will be disseminated en masse and it'll be nearly (if not at all) indistinguishable from human-made content. I myself mistook AI-generated media for real stuff. You most likely have, too. When LLMs and image generation tools were made available to the public, I couldn't imagine how harmful they would be to society and the humanity.
