They know it’s deeply unpopular, leads to civil unrest, etc. But the debt time tables are completely fucked, and printing the debt away immediately leads to a bond market collapse. If everyone dumps their bonds due to the US defaulting or printing 38+ trillion to “pay off” the debt, then you have hyperinflation, supply shortages, and likely civil war from how bad the consequences would be. The hypothetical chance of migrants assimilating is higher than the country imploding from an economic disaster from bond collapse, so that’s why they do it. The problem is, worst case scenario if they didn’t do migration is some replacement country/regime with a new currency, which is honestly way less bad after the hardship than race war genocide from all the migrants.
