>AI startup Mercor recently hit a valuation of $10 billion. “It felt surreal… I would still be in college if I hadn’t founded this company,” Adarsh Hiremath, 22, told ET. Hiremath and his two other cofounders—Brendan Foody and Surya Midha, both also 22—were declared the world’s youngest self-made billionaires last month, beating one Mark Zuckerberg's two-decade-old record.Another Indian Victory

>>525828786AI is basically a useful tool to try and imitate human behaviour, it models human decisions sort of like how a time series models whatever is on its x axis. In this sense, it can be used to automate a lot of human behaviours on a large scale, and save companies millions by doing so - why would you pay 5000 call centre operators when you can get one AI to handle most of the queries? The problem is these things aren't actually an intelligence, were you to be reductionist you'd be tempted to say thay they're basically just extremely sophisticated networks of boolean algorithms, and therefore they can't produce anything novel, they can just model patterns very well. Companies like Mercor get poor western chud students and unemployed mathematicians and pay them minimum wage to improve the accuracy of these models and make millions.
