>destroy the economy>make housing unaffordable>poison the food supply>ban the only dopamine source left for the generation you failedUnironically evil. Instead of parenting their own kids, they just legislate the fun away. Imagine being 15 in Australia right now. Can't drive, can't work, can't buy a house, and now you can't even talk to your friends. The lead poisoning generation demands total misery.
>>525830541the people making these decisions, all across the globe, grew up with television and phones they had to plug in to a wallthey do not understand the internet on a fundamental level, they literally think it's the TVphone
>>525830541Their youth will be hacking their parents to death soon enough.
>>525830541They're doing it because globalization destroyed their legitimacy, so they're implementing a police-surveillance state and speech restrictions to suppress the resulting discontent
>>525830782 >they do not understand the internet on a fundamental level, they literally think it's the TVphone That's absolutely wrong. They understand perfectly that a decentralized (no one owns and therefore controls all the information), democratized (everyone can contribute) system of information is utterly dangerous and destructive to their old, centralized information cartel. That's why the boomers want to get rid of the internet (as we know it). More precisely, they do not want to get rid of the internet, they just want to control it so strictly, that you will no longer be able to access or publish non-mainstream information. The endgoal of all this will be a complete, forced de-anonymization - your provider will only grant you access, if you're visible on the web with your real name at all times. This will also make it impossible to evade age restricted, geo blocked, ISP and DNS blocked content. I'd say 5-10 years and all major western countries will have imposed such a system. Download and save everything to physical drives.
>>525830541>the only way i can talk to my friends is through third party tracking software provided to me by a 500 billion dollar corporation
>>525830541was reading a local redd*t about immigration earlier, saw one retard arguing about muh birth rate we need immigants for le economycheck his profile, it's some cashed up boomer with a bunch of posts about retiring to thailand they are pure evil
>>525830541>Boomers>australia>california the islandnah, just socialists
>>525831352This, the reason that its happening now is the spooky rise of the far left and far right, that non-mainstream media sources are now more popular and they can't control them, they are losing their grip and this is an attempt to reassert it
>>525832135the realization is that there is no right and left and what they call the left is actually marxism and everybody else are liberals so they make you choose between a socialist party and a marxist party and call it conservative vs centrist
>>525830541Yeah and it's all to flex and make it look like they're solving a problem, which, as you said, is properly solved by parents.Lazy sex-havers increase the size of the nanny-state every year, I swear. Everyone has to take care of their sex-spawn but -- THEM!
>>525831352I disagree, and also, I agreelet me pontificate about itwhat I'm trying to communicate here is that boomers and Gen Xers currently legislating anti-internet laws and regulations in their respective "democracies" is that, growing up with television as it was, they, consciously or unconsciously, are seeking to have the same control and dominion over the phenomenon as they did the television set and its respective networkstelevision was ridiculously simple to control, in most countries it was introduced indeed by their government with explicitly government sponsored programmingwith this comes centralization, regulations, control about what can and cannot be broadcast, when, who even, in some cases (Max Headroom, etc)and I think that because they grew up with this and because the internet has always been much more nebulous, user-driven and open, that when these people came into more political power, they would seek to "television-ise" the internetyes you are right though it's just I think that stuff is an accidental benefit that comes from them wanting the internet to be like TV in the first place and that the other stuff is just what they have to do to make the internet like the TV they grew up with
