I think Graham Hancock talks about it too. Anyway I had a period where I was really into conspiracy materials. I don't remember if such materials gradually became hollow to me regardless or if it was after I started studying logic that they started becoming hollow to me, but anyway discovering logic was a game changer for me. A lot of the fringe material is just a bunch of unsupported propositions, no actual arguments, and once you see that it completely loses its value.
