let's get to the core of this issue. it's not about right or wrong, good or evil. it's a actually a problem of ownership. let's simplify things by taking women out of the equation. if someone makes a video of you using AI and shares it with the world and profits from it- then those profits actually belong to you because it's your face that they are using. you own it. the precedent for this is 'likeness rights.' now put women back into the equation. if someone makes a deepfake of a woman in a sex scene- and SHARES it- that person should be liable for defamation of character and any money they make from the image or video belongs to the woman not the person making the video or the website hosting the content. you can't just steal her face because it belongs to her. now, you can't stop people from doing this privately on their own computers and it would be a massive overreach of the privacy laws to monitor everyone's computers for wrongthink. and, if the images or videos are not shared, then there's no harm. the legal response of banning the software is an infantile reaction and the UK will be left behind when it comes to the AI revolution.
