There is absolutely no reason to blame alcohol for anything.Ethanol has very unique potential to store and cultivate very complex taste. Nothing else we drink or eat comes even close in complexity to a well aged spirits. In moderation it isn't even that unhealthy. In fact kinda many of the oldest living people have said their "secret" is a sip of cognac or whiskey before bedtime.
