The actions of the underage attacker at a school in the capital have been classified as attempted murder — police have opened a criminal investigation.It has been established that this morning, a ninth-grade student, while at the educational institution, put on a pre-prepared mask and helmet in a restroom, after which he ran into a classroom and attacked a 39-year-old homeroom teacher and a 14-year-old classmate with a knife.Preliminarily, the minor victim was diagnosed with multiple cut wounds to the back and forearm, while the teacher sustained stab-and-cut wounds to the arms and abdomen. Both victims were hospitalized, and the severity of the bodily injuries inflicted on them is being determined.After committing the attack, the 14-year-old assailant locked himself in the restroom and used a knife to inflict wounds to his own arm and abdomen. The minor is currently in a medical facility, where he is receiving the necessary medical care.Based on this incident, the investigative department of the Obolon District Police Directorate has initiated criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 15 and Part 2, Clause 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — attempted murder of two or more persons.As part of the pre-trial investigation, the motive for committing the crime will be established. In addition, during investigative actions, law enforcement officers discovered correspondence on the suspect's phone with allegedly hostile intelligence services. Investigative actions are currently ongoing.
