Their politicians make statements saying they want strengthened ties with China picrel. they've done the same for Russia btw.Greenland is a country that has way too small a population and economy for its global military importance, it has around 50,000 inhabitants. and to further make things even more problematic, the Danes put Greenland on a path for independence in 2009, with the Self-Government Act of 2009. the risk here is a deal with China or Russia. it can't be independent no matter what since it's a microstate, either the US,RUS or CH will scoop it up since the EU is desperate to throw it overboard for whatever reason, or they try to protect it themselves sadly the EU spent the last four decades self-flagellating itself to death and has a defunct military. just like the UK did Chagos which is now being sold to the Chinese as the UK pays for it. i am obviously against military intervention but the EU is just truly and utterly incompetently driven by ideology.
