This is the exact reverse dynamic of the 50’s, where any average Joe could work at a factory or wipe down tables and have more than enough to meet rent costs, groceries, buy a car, and even have disposable income after. To be an average Joe in 2025 is to live a life of slavery or near slavery. The truth hurts but the working and middle classes will have to stop idealizing normalcy or be forced to accept some form of slavery. You must be willing to be dangerous, to engage in crime if needed, to take giant risks, and to stop playing “by the rules”.

The post WW2 economy we had in the USA was abnormal. Pretty much nowhere on the planet did anyone ever have it that good. You can compare it to the bubonic plague where the people who survived that suddenly were worth a lot more, seeing as how Europe became so less populated. Very few Americans died and the US was spending absurd amounts on Europe after spending a lot in the war already. But the rare happenstance is that now dropping cash on people got them building and opening businesses and being fucking productive to sell shit to destroyed Europe. More importantly a bunch of capital was sitting around in banks to deal with the war effort. All that flooded into this economy at once. Lots of stuff needed + lots of credit = full employment, high wages and economic boom. EU countries boomed even more then the US and the momentum from that went far past what was destroyed.
