ooh my favorite.
To isolate if a pattern is real or just imagined, one must go back in time and find a model that was selected into existence from back before the answers were given, and reward the ones who got it right over the ones who didn't get it right, this at the very least gets the shit out, but presents a new problem that a broken clock is still perfectly right twice a day, to further tease out that got it right by accident we can take the models that got it right and apply it to other settings to see if there is a trend, the lucky ones will fail when put into modified realities, but the ones that get it right most consistently, presume to offer up a pattern that is god-given, that is, if you use the pattern in the future on information that hasn't been collected yet or improved by checking if it got the answer right, because it's future, then it will still be right, and each time it gets it right for unseen data, that is an additional confirmation that source signal has been isolated in that the plumbing is working, that the pattern is correct, the conclusion is right because the relationship held.

We must ask ourselves the question we want the answer to... today, but we must do it retrograde in time, by blinding ourselves to only the past.
