Baboon societies are by far the most violent among the primates. They live in a constant struggle for the alpha spot which is asserted by violence and brutality. As such, no one baboon can reign for long due having to constantly defend its throne from younger, more eager challengers. Alpha baboon eventually succumbs to his wounds.

Chimps have a similar structure. But unlike baboons, alpha chimps form alliances with male relatives. These alliances make sure no one challenger can just walz up to the alpha and contest his throne. The hieracthy now lasts munch longer than a baboon one thanks to said alliance

Here's the moral of the story. Be like a chimp, not a baboon if you want true power. Goebbels found out the hard way.
