Slidethread, I know, I know. But I have actually been wondering about this since my teenage years, like 35 years ago. It used to give me a little contempt for politicians; I thought they were simply ugly people going for sex, money and power as they could. But in later years I am increasingly thinking it is part of the uniform. You NEED to look like that to succeed for some reason, guys like Newsom, Sanna, Macron and Truedau are all seemingly very rare in politics and no beard, boring haircut, NPC suits seem as obligatory as ugly jewelry, Karen-haircuts and grandma dresses.
