I know half of you chuds think college is a scam but it is actually saving my life.See Im a midwit. Im not particularly intelligent. BUT with college and good professors Im actually going to become an Engineer. College taught me mathematics, physics, mechanics, etc. Literally all of this knowledge has turned me from your average mid iq who would be working some bumass low level restaurant job begging for tips, to an actual professional career. I could actually make $100k in 5 years if I play my cards right. Im genuinely so fucking happy I went to college. I hope you guys can make good educational decisions for yourself like I did.
>>525922280>I could makeSo that's the problem. Nobody cares.
Good for you. You're right on time for the coming defenestrations. :D
>>525922280I really don't want to burst your bubble, but this is the mentality of every engineer since 2023 before they're getting fucked over by the job market. Not saying its impossible to find an engineering job that pays that well, but all i'm saying is good luck anon because its competitive as fuck out here.
>>525922280Actually get the job first before you celebrate. Many many stories of college students working at Starbucks because they can't get anything in their role, and no its not limited to fake art degrees. For example, right now tech jobs are going through a rough patch where even people with 10+ YOE, master degrees, etc can't find a job. I hope it doesn't happen to you but don't get your hopes too high as it really comes down to right place right time like a lot of things in life.
>>525922449Depends on your major.Doctors and Engineers can go anywhere they want even if they don't find a job here, its legitimately good knowledge.Other STEM jobs like IT are easily replaceable and are not very stable.99% of non-STEM is absolute garbage and shouldn't be pursued.Assuming he is going Engineering or Medical its a useful skill even if this country imports 6 gorillion more h1b's
>>525922280Based. There is always work for engineers, and the foundational thinking skills you learn are applicable across a dozen other fieldsGood choice anon
>>525922626By the way, your competition is Indians graduating from fake universities that use AI to solve everything and only hire other indians.
Going to college for a relevant, in-demand major is totally different than going for a liberal arts degree.
>>525922280Uni was fun but I didn’t really go all that much. I dropped out like the first month and just did massive amounts of drugs and partied a lot with slutty sorority chicks. I guess you can say I was studying pharmacology and anatomy. College is great tho I agree. Good luck in your studies anon.
>>525923208Where do you find slutty sorority chicks?
>>525922280lookyou went into debt to be noseberg to make about... double minimum wage? by your own admission, the machine wasn't made for talent to benefit humanity. just to make useful workers for a buck.you paid for job training.
>>525922280>I could actually make $100k in 5 years if I play my cards right. You poor kid. I thought the same thing. After graduating college I spent 3 years trying to get a mechanical engineer job before giving up.Thankfully I'm earning decent money now, $150,000 a year last year, but my degree isn't worth the paper it's printed on which is good because I have no idea where my diploma is and haven't seen it in half a decade, I assume it's in my mom's garage or a landfill.
>>525923317UC Santa Barbara Chico state Florida state university of Oregon. I went to one of these schools no I will not dox where I continue to live but you can take a guess
>>525923175There are no in demand majors. Every kid who liked minecraft, legos, or science youtube videos was told to go into STEM. It's absolutely flooded as a field.
