They lived in a village that was not far from a town that was 90% Jewish and there were some Tatars living nearby too, so it was inevitable that there were mixed marriages over the centuries. Although I look unmistakably white, I don't have the potato face many Poles have, essentially the pinch of Tatar genes in me, made me a small twink. To be honest, I wouldn't have even known if not for my grandmother doing a DNA test.
