Also Most North Koreans know that South Korea is affluent and that the US holds global hegemony. The North Korean citizens you see praising Kim Jong-un on North Korean state-run TV news aren't doing it sincerely. They're all acting. Kim Jong-il, Kim Jong-un's father, once met with the South Korean president and told him, "All those North Koreans who look at me in awe and enthusiastically are cursing and criticizing me behind my back. I know full well they're putting on a show in front of me."
