Why is the west unable to do sci-fi shit anymore?

As an electrical engineer that has studied power, I have to say, that's one of the most retarded things I've ever seen.
Dunning Kruger all the way.
>>
>>525969354
Kind if hard to build anything when the only people with jobs are reee leftist trannies, women and ESL.
>>
>>525969354
reactionary societies always decline. old white geriatrics won't lead us into the future nor rich boys who inherited their wealth.
>>
>>525969354
That shit was tried in the 50’s. Western civilizations have done all of this shit already and abandoned all of it because it’s stupid, inefficient and expensive. Kn top of that we are still lazy and opted to maximize the potential for oil production. You will notice there are only a few companies with the ability to drill in extremely deep water.

I dont think its lazieness as much as we all know the real solution is nuclear, but boomers literally curb stomped it so now we have to wait 10-15years to ever see new ones working. In the mean time fossil fuels is all we have and everything else is a meme untill tech break throughs

Toyota been doing this kite wind power since 2010s, I think US even older. But seeing that it's not commercial yet, there still be technological difficulties remaining.

Just look up how many NPP China is building but also building all of this other shit. I think they are trying everything and anything green just because they can build anything and everything to scale.

They had motorised windmills in the cities when the Olympics was on there to make it seem they were greener than they were.

It’s been memory holed now, hahaha. Alphabet, an American company running a smokescreen for their enemies. That is pathetic.

The real tech breakthrough would be a rail gun that launches barrels of nuclear waste into the sun
>>
>>525971993
I bet! Boomers i blame. If we had spent their generation through X continuing building them we could have started real phasing out of fossile fuels for newer better ones, reactor waste recyclers, shit we cant even imagine today, because we just basically stopped developing at some point. Now we screwed, where our only option is quadrupling down on fossil fuels till enough next generation reactors are completed, unless some new tech break throughs happen, not just chinks reproducing stolen IP.

oh! Really! I guess that explains why theyre building 40 nuclear power plants? Because those recycled cow fart machines are just pumping out wattage??

70% of their electricity is from fossil fuels and nuclear. The rest is from that hydrodam thats a geological disaster waiting to happen, and some made up stuff.

Nuclear is green energy retard. But it does take the longest to build.
You don't seem to understand that maybe you don't put all your eggs in one basket? Or investing in new technologies is.... A le good thing like GREEN ENERGY?
Why do you think they have the best batteries, best solar panels, best EV's in the world lol?
>>
>>525972714
Why? Whats wrong with nuclear waste? Why is it bad? Because Its still radioactive? Doesnt that mean its still producing energy? We have "recycling" technology to handle nuclear waste now which can continue low yield output, its just not profitable, but again its a tech that at scale, would be the case if we had say too much nuclear waste to know how to deal with (traditionally).
>>
>>525973142
china has less nuclear power plants? Whats confusing you?
>>
>>525973045
Stringing thin steel cables thousands of feet into the air is incredibly dangerous for aircraft, especially when they are not a permanent fixture.
They literally used the same kind of setup with balloons and cables as air defense in WW2.

A helicopter crashed in Arizona recently just because a cable was temporarily suspended across a canyon.

>>525973045
>Why was the idea scrapped?
It might have applications in remote places for short periods of time, but eventually cables will fail. In large scale installation there would be people whose job would be catching up wayward balloon powerplants. Possibly shooting 'em down.

I dont even know what your arguing you fucking jeet. You come in this thread and just starting shit. China gets 65% of its power from fossil fuels. 5% (and expected to grow) from nuclear. hydrodam power is 16% and the rest is wind and solar which is made up because neither technology produces more energy then it cost to make and run them. I dont even understand what your saying I could even lie about. These are facts not opinions.

>Are American reactors inefficient or something?
Yeah, they're extremely inefficient but slightly more efficient than just throwing petrocarbins into a furnace. If you take the amount of labor and oil burned to run a npp and compare it to the power out put of just burning the oil and coal in a conventional PowerPlant the npp is generating slightly more power than the conventional pp for the same amount of petrocarbon and carbon emissions.

cost of power generated over the lifetime = x
cost of constuction and maintenance = y

Windpower is a scam. It takes more electricity to keep windmills going, than what they create

>Why is the west unable to do sci-fi shit anymore?

there was such a project, GoogleX Makani, I saw the relic in a museum somewhere in California, it was pretty retarded, maybe some engineering interns got to polish their resumes out of it

meanwhile a single land based wind turbine can do 3 Megawatts
>>
>>525969354
We're crippled by (((regulations))), (((costs))), (((lack of R&D))), and (((poor education))).

By now, we should've created ways for EVERY house to be off-grid, using individual geothermal sinks, bladeless wind-turbines, and solar panels for all our energy and heating needs. Instead, we're slaves to gas and electric companies because the rich still need to make money.

there is no shortage of retarded energy engineering projects
Leading Active Airborne Wind Startups/Companies in 2026
Here are some of the most prominent ones based on recent developments, pilots, funding, and market reports:

SkySails Power (Germany) — One of the furthest along commercially. Launched their Kyo system in 2025: a 450 kW (scaling toward higher) autonomous kite-based airborne wind turbine. It's compact, robust, and targets decentralized/off-grid use (e.g., islands, remote sites, hybrid systems). They've started sales, run pilots (including in Germany), and emphasize high full-load hours (up to 5,000/year in good sites). Collaborations include AI integration and offshore potential.
Kitemill (Norway) — Developing rigid-wing kite systems with a ground-based generator. Focus on >350m altitudes for higher yields and ~50% lower levelized cost of energy via minimal materials. They've been iterating since the 2000s, with ongoing pilots and emphasis on scalability for utility sites.
Kitepower (Netherlands/Ireland) — Known for soft-kite systems like the Falcon (aiming for efficient remote/off-grid power). Uses up to 90% less material than traditional turbines. Active in the European AWE scene, with demos replacing diesel generators.

>>525977308
It would be cheaper to just have a ton of solar and conventional wind power used to create synthetic hydrocarbons or other fuels that can be used in conventional plants. Legitimately just a bad idea to have tons of electrified debris floating around for no reason.
>>
the Natrium nuclear power project is what we really need
The Natrium nuclear project, led by TerraPower (founded by Bill Gates and partnered with GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy), is a pioneering advanced nuclear demonstration plant. It's a 345 MW sodium-cooled fast reactor (SFR) coupled with a molten salt energy storage system that allows output to ramp up to 500 MW for over five hours, providing flexible, dispatchable carbon-free power ideal for grids with high renewables or data center demands.
As of mid-January 2026, the project (located in Kemmerer, Wyoming, next to a retiring coal plant) is making strong progress as the first commercial-scale advanced non-light-water reactor under construction in the Western Hemisphere.

>>
>>525977805
These TerraNigz were going to build a plant that would recycle spent nuclear fuel from regular reactors but there was a chimp out in China's direction so now we can't have nice things. I hate Jews like you wouldn't believe.
>>
>>525971396

>>525973317

>Why is the west unable to do sci-fi shit anymore?
This is a pointless publicity stunt. Only retards fall for this kind of shit that China churns every day.
