Two indian PhD students Aditya Prakash and Urmi Bhattacharyya filed a civil lawsuit against the University of Colorado Boulder when they were told not to use the microwave to heat "food" with pungent smell (palak paneer). When they refused, the university escalated the matter. Now the couple have been awarded $200,000 by the court but the university has barred them from future enrollment or employment.
