This is why you get shit like Maduro being snatched, threats against Canada and Greenland.If you look at a larger picture of the Americas in terms of potential resources and economic potential you'll quickly see that in theory if the USA was able to directly control the entirety of the Americas they could then cut themselves off from the rest of the world. There would be no resources they'd need they can't get in the Americas.Rare earths, common resources, agricultural output, energy, etc. Its all there. The USA could hypothetically maintain the Americas in a state of relative stasis for a prolonged period (100+ years) without facing any real external threats due to geographic isolation.
