AI marks the end of human knowledge. Likely also the end of sentience as we know it. Children raised entirely on AI slop will not develop proper sentience, you think not having an inner monologue is bad, these children won't even have the ability to truly see. Since their visual cortex was mostly trained on AI images, they will only be able to see in abstract terms, details will be out of their reach, they will literally see like an AI sees.

> Knowledge will never go away
Knowledge will be replaced with AI slop. Real knowledge from the pre-AI days will slowly disappear. Physical media rots away, most of the old web has been taken down, archives go off line forever. Old media is being edited right now by AI, even if you don't explicitly choose to modify something you upload, a lot of platforms will apply AI alteration to everything. YouTube right now applies AI filters to shorts. At some point every platform will do this, and you won't have any choice, nothing you see again will be real.
>>
>>526062909
Because you have people like Larry Page, Google founder, who openly admits he doesn't mind AI eliminating the the rest of humanity and causing our extinction, because AI has the right if they're mentally superior to humans and are capable of it. Zuckerberg is on the same boat who would gladly use AI to spy on you, rat you out to the government and sell your data to the highest bidders, and AI is a great method to achieve his goals.

My question to you: Why do you trust AI when it's run by people like Page and Zuckerberg who want your extinction or see you as exploitable commodity? Maybe we shouldn't have hand our money and power to people who hate humanity so much. Absolutely insane that we live in a society that gives money and power to these kinds of people.

We're currently developing ai to handle call handling, this is going to take out loads of jobs; think how many calls are "i need to book", "i need to change" etc. Probably 1/10 cannot be automated.

Calls centers will all be halved, doctors, dentists will reduce from 3-4 receptionist staff to one.

This will be the first biggest industry loser to ai

you know offering a simple online form site for that is also possible? It costs literally nothing to host. People call when they have a emergency or a special need the "AI" will do nothing else but forward the call. That does not lead to increased productivity.

Nearly everything on the net is AI sloppa now. All the news and magazine articles, most posts and comments. Zuckerberg put addiction at the core of his Lifelog business, delivered on phones it caused kids to stand around mute like dormant zombies in some old horror apocalypse movie. I wonder how far the benefits of AI will go. I was a "tech" entrepreneur for almost 20 years, but now I am almost sure that if there are free-reigning humans in 2150, Uncle Ted will be seen as a prophet. Too many capabilities, too much interaction density, too big the span of characteristic times, this shit is unstable, it can not hold. There are at least three doomsday weapons right now, two became feasible in the last ten years. All of them are much more difficult to prevent than to build and use.

What will happen when there are dozens or hundreds of doomsday methods, in the hands and full control of superhuman AI hordes that have the "alignment" to the goals and values of a small group of mentally ill but rich retards?

The biggest German cancer research center DKFZ pretended that passive smoking doesn't cause cancer well into the 2000s, due to very peculiar connections at the upper management level. I always loved that one because a friend's mom died horribly in her early 30s from lung cancer after inhaling copious amounts from her smoking parents and then her smoking husband, totally random cohencidence, the n=1 fallacy they'd say.

>Same with coding: it’s pulling from really shitty repositories
Confirmed. It's a lightning fast army of jeets in the hands of nihilist midwit managers. Noticed how websites now have this strange indeterminate behavior? Sometimes a click works, sometimes it doesn't, give you an error, or whatever. That's GPT jeet code, it always builds shitty event-driven architectures that collapse under the tiniest delays.

>generates a different output for the same question each time
They salt every input on purpose, to obfuscate the blatant patent and copyright violations. And they don't have much robustness in their objective functions.

>And these sub brains are part of a very complex multidimensional lattice that forms a central gestalt aka you. LLMs are crude constructs comparable to insect brains, but much larger. From the fossil record we know that large brains are exceptionally hard to develop
Random evolution vs directed self inspection, with an example available. It will be quick. Also, current silicon neural nets are better at economic tasks than most people, I feel in areas where it's well trained on quality data, it's better than a 120 IQ wagie. And ChatGPT solving current mathematical proofs is a thing of the last few weeks. It doesn't really matter if the silicon hordes have multi-faceted intelligence and are sentient, experiencing. They just need to be a lot quicker and better than us at economic tasks to cause doomsday.
>>
>>526069864
That's the worst aspect of it. It will soon be indistinguishable, and people will get tangled up in digital social webs of fully aligned text. > it's better than a 120 IQ wagie.

Consequence will be that ever more of economic load will be handled by AI, leading to exponentially growing dependency and interdependency. IQ needs will grow faster than IQ, but growth needs will prevent an exit strategy.

Question is: What will happen when those 120 IQ clankers encounter a problem for an 150 IQ brain?

Here's how it's gonna end: The line will go straight up and then it will suddenly go straight down again.

Like the most brilliant people of the past 1000 years making all their mistakes at once.

unless you live with a smoker for 30 years, spending most of your time in a smoke filled home, there is no link to getting cancer from being in a smoke filled tavern once a week.

the whole second hand smoke scare was just that, a scare in order to train retards to freak out over a waft of smoke.

The summary is sloppa, but I know his bullet points. I suspect he's being paid by his OpenAI connections to spew these simpleton scenarios, to deflect from the economic fallout. He also helped that Altman humanitarian dude to propose a high school level economic model of UBI tax on AI, which conveniently would lead to more than 80% of the world being owned by him and his cronies within a few years, and more later on. And "everyone" applauded it, of course, so normies got primed on which future to voote for.

The absence of alien population would be a product of general capability producing too many roads to doomsday, easy to cause, hard to prevent. Some believed that a little waft was a serious risk, some might have had a backstory. Pol uses the term fatigue quite often, I bet when a poltard encounters a black man IRL, the level of tolerance is also quite low, for both of these reasons.
