I don't like traditional socialism, but these days "socialism" just means any time the government spends money to help its citizens.

Taxing billionaires and corporations to afford public services isn't socialist, it's actually the only thing that allows capitalism to benefit everybody instead of just the ruling class. To do otherwise is a failure of functioning capitalism.
I don't want the government to seize production away from companies, I want them to make sure those companies pay their fair share like they used to.

If you disagree, you have to concede that 1950s america was a socialist country, which of course it was not
