I don't really get the point of palliative care for geezers. Society spending billions on barely keeping alive a bunch of terminally ill old people who are in constant pain and suffer 24/7 anyway. These people are often immobile, too ill to do anything but lie in bed all day while watching TV. They're too demented to remember their relatives or have a meaningful conversation with anyone. They're basically the living corpses, that are kept artificially alive for years. It just seems kinda wasteful and cruel.

They “put them on the pathway” and refuse them medical treatment. So one night i got a call from a chick i was tapping who worked at a bupa old foggies knackers yard. Some oldy with dementia she’d been looking after for months had fallen and split his head open. They had not allowed her to get an ambulance (she called one anyway in the end) for him and were refusing to treat the cut which needed stitching. They’d locked the oldy in a room and were stopping her getting to him to help him. She wanted me to go in heavy and start throwing people around. It was about 12:30 am she’d been at it for 4 hours by that point and she also called the police. Very upsetting for her because she was attached to the cabbage.

The only difference between nursing homes and hospice is they give up on trying to treat their problems and just drug them into a coma and wait for them to die of dehydration.
