Russian Z-bloggers are claiming that China has now effectively taken over a large part of Russia`s far east. China is now allegedly earning taxes from areas from Chita all the way to Vladivostok, with a large Chinese population now residing there.

Russia is borrowing large amounts in yuan to finance its imports from China. These loans will never be repaid but are backed by real assets in Russia that will be transferred to Chinese ownership upon default.

This has been going on since ~2010.Chinese lease a lot of land for agriculture. They build these huge fenced-in farming compounds and lock the gates so the Chinese slaves can't get out. They farm aggressively for a few seasons, totally destroy the land, then leave.

It was part of Manchuria under the Manchu Qing Dynasty which was a multinational empire. Sparsely populated border region and most of the people living there were indigenous people who were neither Chinese nor Russians. Ukraine has a better historical claim over it than China.
