The US goal at this point can be assumed to be direct control of the world. Greenland more or less cements eventual Canadian submission. Iceland doesn't do all that much beyond act as an extra check against Russia doing anything in the north but it also acts as another step towards the US being able to take out Europe. After Iceland the obvious move would be the Faroe islands and then the Shetlands. The Shetlands in particular would put London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen within the combat radius of an F-35 sortie (Paris is in range if it's in Air-To-Air configuration). If we also get the Orkney's then you can add Berlin to what's in range. I'd argue that even more important would be the island of Madeira since that would put the Gibraltar strait within sortie range.Actually the Falklands being taken would control the southern approach from the pacific. The Prince Edwards islands would be pretty good for the indian ocean direction but.... we'd need better planes.TLDR: If the US takes Greenland, Iceland, Madeira, The Falklands and Prince Edward island then we control all trade that moves into the Atlantic and from there we can slowly deal with nations trading within the atlantic till it's an American lake.
