My parents said the quiet part out loud about how I’ll never be able to afford to move out despite working full time and that I should be grateful to live with them forever and that it also somehow means I shouldn’t care about how much I’m paid to work. I lived with my parents for five years and eventually bought a crackshack for dirt cheap and spent an entire year after work working till 1 am and on weekends completely gutting and renovating it myself. Now i have a beautiful home to live in for cheap as fuck in a decent neighborhood. I did literally everything and now i have beautiful tile floors in kitchen and bath, nice oak hardwood floors, geanite countertops, etc etc. i learned so fucking much and created so much value with my hard work. The house is about 500 feet down the road on our property occupied by my grandmother now, after my uncle moved to the city to be with his children. I could do the same if i wanted too, but the animals are all my responsibility and they all exist around the main house. Still I am happy at home though why would i ever leave, i have my wife and me in one room and the 3 kids have to share a room which isn't ideal for them. I plan on expanding the house by about 2 more rooms when the kids get over the age of 5 and start wanting their own space. Still the entire house is surrounded by 2 acres of forest on each side, so people can go off and hang out with the goats or the chickens or ride one of our ponies if they get tired of all the people around.

Either way this will free up the extra house for my own parents to move into. The way it is all set up everyone will have a house connected by a private road by the year 2050. All of this is property tax free, because we raise animals on our property and therefore have agricultural exemptions to property taxes
