I had a recent heart health scare and eating less fat got rid of some issues I was having. First off I was misdiagnosed by a brown doctor, avoid them. He said I was having an irregular heartbeat. I drink like 1/3rd gallon whole milk a day, 2 eggs a day, and eat meat once a day. So really dependent on that milk supplementation but it has a good amount of fat. Exercise a lot including running a mile every week. Never had chest pains or felt heart flutters. After only 2 weeks of doing a half fat diet to what I normally eat, I was healthier. Felt the same energy levels and didn't lose weight (I'm a hardgainer hence the near GOMAD). Went for a second opinion to a different brown doctor (they're seriously all fucking brown wtf) and I didn't have the irregular heartbeat, but he also said according to the chart of my previous test, I didn't have one to begin with. He literally told me he can't put that on paper because he has to cover for the other doctor...

So yes eating less fat, a more reasonable amount, made me healthier. I stick to it because the blood clotting issue was concerning especially since it mostly happened in my dick and would give it weird unsightly bulges. The vision correction is enough to continue eating a moderate amount of fat only. Fats are building blocks of cells and compounds like protein, and also provide energy, but too much just stores as fat or floats around in the blood. This should be obvious.

They did blood tests for diabetes and a 12 lead EKG stress test on a treadmill where they measured my heart's response to cardio while running at an incline. He said the heart likes sustained mid level cardio and that's the best way to keep it healthy. I'm gonna keep lifting weights and sprinting because I like to, oh well, but the high fat diet wasn't doing anything good for me and was in fact hurting me.

I asked /fit/ and someone on there put it very well. There are only brief periods in history and only in some regions where humans have had a diet similar to carnivores, and it was out of necessity. Wherever we could, we would eat lots of fruits and vegetation. A body eating a reasonable amount of meat and vegetation is healthy, and the vast majority of doctor's agree that a balanced diet is the best for your health. Don't fall for this fad diet BS because it seems manly, it's not going to help you as you age. Eat healthy and balanced.

What's very true is that excess protein can be converted although that is complicated and probably rare. You're right to point out the inability of protein to make one fat.

I shouldn't have said that it absolutely can't use stored protein, it can but in emergencies because the processes to break it down leave harmful byproducts behind in the bloodstream.

Protein can't be used as calories, burnable energy to make the body move, unless you're in ketosis. Again I simplified too much. Yeah you can even turn protein into glucose and I think fats, but it leaves behind byproducts and isn't done unless absolutely necessary. Technically you can convert protein into glucose then have that store as fat, but by the time you're converting it yoir body is so starved that it needs glucose and will use it before storing. It also can't produce very much so it wouldn't be a notable amount of fat storage. Doesn't matter to non starving people, if you have adequate carbs and fats in your system your body won't use protein for energy and it literally does not count towards daily calorie intake. That system is simplified too for dummies who need to lose weight, and it works because the concept is just "eat less fatty." But knowing what each macro does is more beneficial to fine tune a diet.

You're approaching it wrongly.
We we talk "muscle" we mean hypertrophied, ie thickened fibers. You are probably already born with a pre existing number of fiber bundles.
If you do not train, your muscles will lose that thickness to a degree, along with other adaptations. Muscle memory, a concept hypothesised long before it was validated will ensure you will probably recapture 100% of your "gains", meaning thickness as long as your hormonal milieu remains the same.

Yes, protein absolutely comes last when the body wants to burn energy and/or store fat. For people who need to lose, this is a theoretical consideration as they got fat through processed fat+carbs. Cases where protein is sky high at the absence of fat & carbs are usually artifical scenarios for fat loss.

You will lose glycogen and conditioning, you won't lose fibers. You can in fact build fibers and then never lose the ones you build. Steroid abusing bodybuilders wouldn't get so big if they couldn't build new fibers, and you see them when they can't workout anymore or their heart will explode, they still look pretty beefy but with a lot of glycogen stores and conditioning lost, so they definitely aren't as strong nor have the same muscular endurance they had. "Muscle memory" is the fact that these fibers always remain, and once reconditioned they become strong and bloated with blood/water/carbs again.
