Here's my experience from a christian frog who's dating a türk girl for 2 years now, I spent 6 months of the last two years travelling around Turkey, I've been in many cities (Ankara, Izmir, Antalya, Kars, Sivas, and Istanbul)The left wing there is vehemently anti-Islam, to the point of having friendly views about Christianity as a rejection mechanic, but most of them aren't educated and the christian communities (Constantinople patriarchy, few catholic churches here and there) aren't evangelizing for shit, and a schism litteraly happened yesterday, (Papa Eftim turkish orthodox church) Broke away from the patriarch of Constantinople, refusing to give baptism.The educated left mostly present in Izmir and Kadikoy district in Istanbul are too gay friendly to actually entertain becoming christians, However the regular man usually holds christians in a higher respect than his muslim brethren (sounds weird I know) Keep in mind that Alevi Islam originates from Konya and Alevi muslims are suuuper chill regarding other religions unlike sunnisThe average young man is tired of Erdogan and is gradually breaking away from Islam, and i noticed a lot of young men in churches when i attended service, particularly in Izmir surprisingly, so Christianity overall has a bright future from a disillusioned muslim youth, but the catholic church and orthodox patriarchy needs to move their asses to fill the spiritual gap and start evangelizing, or the youth will become atheist.
